KnitWit

When Susie Bubble just posted about Brazilian knitwear designer Lucas Nascimento I was reminded of how much I love knitwear.

Not only do I love knitwear I’m even a bit of a knitter myself (at least from time to time). So when I could not afford a much desired piece by Missoni I tried to knit a missoni-esque sweater myself.

Later I actually did buy my dream, a dress, but strangely I’m wearing it far less than I thought I would. One of the reasons is that it looses shape so quickly it has to be washed* every time it has been worn. I still love the pattern and the colours though.

Do you have a favourite knitwear designer?

*Naturally it should only be dry-cleaned, but if a garment doesn’t survive a wash it doesn't survive long in my wardrobe… I might make an exception for coats and blazers, which means they tend to become slightly filthy… but Shush! Enough of that!

P.S. It seems the camera works in near darkness. Not best results, but quite atmospheric, don't you think?

Oh, you look absolutely stunning in these photographs - I too adore knitwear! I believe that we have the same taste in style...Missoni will forever be one of my favorites - I love their incorporation of different colors in each of their creations!! :)

I had a hunch we might like the same things, Erika. They are the Mother of all knitwear, aren't they?

Hi there-I thrifted a Missoni jersey tunic last year for £3 and a Missoni scarf about 3 years ago for £2, both favourite pieces of mine! Knitwear favourite has to be my Sonia Rykiel jumper which I thrifted for £2.50, its pink and purple stripes, I love it!!

What a great dress! :D I love knitwear, but I don't have very much of it. I do have a knit black dress that I found at Goodwill recently, I like that one a lot. :)

Pretty dress!

I don't have patience for clothes that needs dry cleaning too! And my jackets/blazers stay slightly filthy in my closet as well haha:P

Cute dress! I love knitwear, in particular anything cashmere. I find Sonia Rykiel to be quite adorable. I like Missoni in theory, but whenever I'm standing in front of the actual clothes, it all seems a little outdated or old-fashioned for my taste? I do have one of their scarves I got in an outlet but that's about it. Some of the independent designers are coming out with incredible knitwear creations that include sculptural collars, shoulders and other statement looks which is quite incredible.

You and me both... I love knitwear too and my favorite knit designer is Missoni, along with Sonia Rykiel of course. I have a massive collection of crochet dresses, but sadly I don't really know how to knit or crochet myself. I am working on it!

We share the love for knitwear :-). You look absolutely beautiful in this pictures. My Grandmother was a phenomenal knitter. She was able to knit things that would knock you out of your socks!:-) I was always so happy to get one of her creatiions for my Birthday. I bealieve I still have several of them packed away.:-) Wishing you beautiful weekend filled with joy.

My favorite knitted thing is a chunky crazy cardigan from Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania line. It is apparently a combo of knit and crochet. I am a huge fan of artsy, crazy knit, and sometimes I think NOW is the time to do that project, and I buy yarn and.... nothing. I want an old lady in the corner, working her needles on my command! Please.

hi from Sandra :-)

Its amazing how Missoni manage to keep things so fresh every season, knitwear isn’t always the easiest medium to work with

I am actually rather obsessed with knitwear. Missoni must be the epitome of classic, chic knits - but I love that you made your own!

You look amazing and your hair is beautiful! I am not really a wearer of knitwear tho I am looking for a very loosely knitted like holey sweater! Nothing like a cashmere jumper either is there? I don't own one but it's a dream!
