Snuggle Up & Zip Up

I’m still in shock – It’s Good-Bye to sofa, tea & cookies (don’t you think they go together like popeye, spinach & olive oyl?), late nights and later mornings and Hello to the alarm clock, healthy breakfast and yoga in the mornings (soo painful after a break!) – But I’m being a good girl and it’s also a chance to get organised again… 2010 I’m ready!

Also, it’s soooo cold – I thought I had left below zero temperatures behind me when I moved to the UK, but right now it’s properly icy and English houses are just not built for the cold… The wool blanket has become my constant companion.

I really don’t care how I look at home. Being wrapped in an old wool blanket is sartorially just fine with me... But protecting myself from the cold outside is a different task altogether. Somehow big sweaters and sensible shoes just don’t satisfy the fashionista in me. But after The Sartorialist showed this seriously cool girl in a biker leather jacket I think I’ve found the solution (and I certainly won’t forget my leopard gloves)!

Fantastic gloves! I agree, winter weather really limits you in terms of fashionable options. I try to get creative with boots and accessories, and keep the rest simple: skinny jeans, cashmere turtleneck, belted faux fur or puffy coat. Can't wait for the spring!

Was tagged in a meme by Mrs Trefusis (http://mrstrefusis.blogspot.com), and I have tagged you! It's quite an easy one, offer 10 things about yourself and then tag 7 others. Would love to see your results!

Is it just me, or have we bloggers been referencing The Satorialist an awful lot this year (and it hasn't even been a week)? LOL....great post and I love the gloves! I need to find a great leather jacket...any suggestions?

Good for you for getting back into a routine! I'm dreading going back to school and getting myself organized...

To keep my feet warm I usually wear boots and socks if it's snowy and slushy. If it's just frozen snow and I'm not going to be outside long then I just wear whatever.

Ivan - yes, I agree. The Sartorialist has become some kind of Gold Standard to whom we all refer. But then, his quality is outstanding. The jacket is actually my husband's. I think he had it custom made for him quite a while ago and still treasures it.

Indy - One day I will get warm boots!

Too right about the weather, is it snowing where you are? I actually love the challenged that dressing for cold weather presents, the accessory possibilities!

Aghh I hear ya. This morning I had my first swim practice in the morning since break and I couldn't get out of bed! It was a struggle. And ha I know what you mean. I've been obsessing over jackets as of late just because of this need to look put together even in the cold!

your pictures are so beautiful.
I bought a long wool sweater and only take it off when I trade it for my long puffy coat.
stay warm and remember the sofa-tea-cookies are still there in the evening :)

I couldn't agree more how sofa, cookies and tea completely belong together and its a sad day when you have to break up the friendship. I too am trying to put a routine back in place. However snow is making this hard. I recommend hot water bottle. I walk around my apartment with my little warm bottle. Great gloves for a fashionista

There's nothing like a little yoga to get the day started. Hard as it may be, it makes a world of difference. And I agree at home is one story, but in public, practicality is out the window!

Love Grace.

ah i love small touches of a wild print! great gloves.

i have the nikon d3000 and i am very happy with it. its very simple and easy to use but delivers great results. also there are enough different setting to mess around with, that the more you use it the more fun it gets. i decided to get it based on several blog comparisons on the d3000 and the canon rebel. click on my pictures to enlarge them and get a better feel. happy hunting
