Tweed This

I’m a big fan of outdoor fashion photography à la The Clothes Horse. But I'm also quite a wimp when it comes to cold weather - which is why I've lately taken most pictures indoors.

But when it comes to showing tweed I really had to overcome my inner wuss. Tweed evokes pictures of horses, hounds and rifles (and ideally a rambling English mansion) in me, but since I was a bit short on these accessoires the hedge had to do. The costume is one of my diy projects; I made it by cutting up an old coat I bought in an Oxfam (thrift) store. Theoretically I love it, but practically I rarely wear it because it's scratchy as hell.

Why is it tweed today? Because I've become a tweeter (or twitterer?)… Anyway, I've finally managed to activate my twitter account. I signed up ages ago but 140 characters never seemed enough to have my say and in the end I just forgot about it. I'm a total novice and really don't know if I will be very entertaining, but I will try my best and be prolific. You can find me as SabinePsynopsis and if anyone wants to communicate with me please leave your twitter name and I will follow you.

But back to fashion – What’s your stand on tweed? Friend or foe? Chanel or Prince Charles? Cool or way too old-fashioned?

Love it, love it, love it! (But not if it's itchy.)

LOVE tweed; though I don't own a single piece myself! Scratch that, I just remembered that I have a pair of tweed tailored shorts that I've never worn - I absolutely must!!

I quite adore the last photograph the most - you look like a supermodel, Sabine! Your coat, the backdrop, your handbag...the entire ambiance is simply magical!! :)

Tweed is a fabric I've never gotten the hang of - it either sits too heavily and bulks me out or is unbearably itchy!

Those leaves complement your gorgeous coat and hair perfectly.

I think a touch of tweed can be played quite nicely. I love these photos, the tweed coat definitely looks better shot outdoors.

Fantastic suit! I love the outdoors quality of the photography, tweed is such a British institution so where better to wear it than in the English countryside! I love tweed when it is worn with slight irony, Marc Jacobs new black and white tweed with splashes of colour is divine. My twitter is Zenobieness

I do adore good old fashioned tweed! I only wish they were less scratchy and a bit more comfortable to wear!

With that said, you look amazing in this tweed coat! And it's really wonderful to see you outside for a change! I love your red hair against the brown leaves, so lovely:)

Tweed evokes some of those pictures to me too. They are one of the most elegant clothes. And, Sabine, the sunlight in your hair made the color more gorgeous! also liked the outfit and place (: kisses

I love tweed! Totally Chanel & I love your outdoor shoots (I like them too, but am just as big a wimp!)! But wearing them to school is a tad too overdressed, even for me, and the itchiness factor is quite annoying. Ah jealous of your DIY ability too! Wish I could do that!

Tweed will always be super cool in my book. You can be 18 or 80, and still look fabulous in a little tweed.

P.S. Love the photos!
