Corsets, Girls & Horses

I feel I have to make amends for my dissing the inside-out look. Being of a fickle disposition I naturally have already changed my opinion about showing off your lingerie. I've now decided that it’s not only acceptable, but actually very attractive. (Plus the boudoir look isn’t such a new idea anyway…)

Also, since my
‘tweed post’ I've been haunted by the idea taking pictures featuring 'girl, horse and English countryside'. Finding a horse wasn't the problem, but mounting the beast in 10 seconds (the time you get with self-timer*) is a bit too short for me (not to mention that I’m slightly frightened by its height). Luckily, the sweet and charming Morgaine was so kind to model my idea of combining 2 trends – boudoir and jeans – on her horse.

I think Morgaine pulls the look off beautifully, but how do you feel about corsets and Co.? Is it a big 'Yes' for you or rather: 'No, thanks!'?

I'm off to Berlin for a few days tomorrow. Though more family than fashion visit, I'm still hoping to come back with some interesting stories and pictures. Perhaps I even to manage to blog from there...

*I'm getting a remote control soon, which should make things a bit easier. Also, when I started the blog my intention wasn’t to constantly show pictures of myself. I just wanted to rediscover my love for photography and write about style, fashion and aesthetics. I have admit that although I find taking and showing images of myself slightly awkward, it contains a therapeutic element; a bit like a 'coming out'. But I’m hoping to be able to show more pictures of others in future, too.

Such a beautiful shot and such a beautiful look...so appropriated. I love horses and I do admire their wild nature and beauty. The corselet is also fantastic...you are sexy!

Sabine - I truly adore these photos. There's something so graceful and wild about horses. They fascinate and terrify me in equal measures! And your model looks so wholesome - all fresh faced and shiny haired. I love the denim corset over that crisp white shirt.

Have fun in Berlin! I've always wanted to go there.

Hope you have a good trip, I love the photos and Morgaine looks lovely in this outfit. If I had a bigger bust, I definitely would wear the corset look, I really like it.

These pictures are so pretty! :)

I really like the corset look, as long as it's classy and not slutty. I especially love the layered corset look, like in these pictures! I never have a chance to wear that sort of style, though- it would probably look sort of inappropriate around campus! Haha!

ps I tagged you for a blog award :) Thank you so much for allyour support!

thatsorad - thank you so much for the award. I'll check out the tag.

It took a braver girl than me to mount the horse. And Morgaine was very comfortable on her horse, sitting, standing, lying...

Love the corset, so a vote in the "yay" column for me and the lovely Ms. Morgaine makes the photo shoot worthwhile!

I love this variation of the corset... so much more wearable and though it contains the underwear element, it's not blindingly obvious which makes it a lot more timeless. I don't mind the look. I still have a corset from a few years ago when the look was revived back then. The one thing I won't do though is wear just panties or a bodysuit without pants. I'll leave that to Lady Gaga (and I hope most people will too ;-)

Have fun in Berlin! Definitely one of my favorite places in Germany to shop and go out (Hamburg is the other and I'm heading there next month!).

Beautiful pictures, brilliantly styled! When it comes to corsets I actually would say "yes", but also add - depends on the type of corset. I recently became a proud owner of a fabulous corset top from legendary Chloe 2000Collection, in nude color incrusted with pearls. I am absolutely in love with it. When it comes to lingerie, I had complete turn of hearts courtasy of Dior. I even whent as far as getting two beautiful lengirie style dresses from Antonio Marras collection, one in pink and one in black for upcoming summer. I think there is something so delicate and so feminine about lingerie type of clothes. Have a marvelous time in Berlin!:-)

I love the photos -- very artistic and mood evocking!
I've always loved mixing high and low items, i.e. the corset and jeans featured here. I think the contrast is what makes each element stand out.

Oh the corset looks so lovely on her! I used to think lingerie on the outside a bit too crass but the way she wore it here is totally adorable to me!

And that pic of her lying back on her horse is phenomenal! What a perfect picture:)

p.s. I did received your comment, hope there won't be any more problems for you commenting on my blog!

Beautiful, this corset reminds me of Jonathan Saunders. Corsets over other clothing are lovely, a sort of underwear as outerwear thing but I am not too keen on corsets worn as tops for nights out

Hey, you brought back a lovely memory. When I was a teenager, my best friend had a horse. As a pet! And I loved riding.

Morgaine is lovely and just seems to pull off the trends so successfully. I myself might not try it, but then, accessorizing the look, minus the horse, doesn't sound like much fun.

I have to agree, I wasn't too keen on the idea of outside lingerie to begin with (images of flabby chicks in sequinned bras suddenly began to haunt me), but I can see how it would work given the right outfit.
These pictures are lovely (I'm a massive horse fan so you can see why I like them!) and the denim corset thing is cuteee as well as understated. A yes from me!

The corset is definitely dependent on the person. In most cases I'd say it's a bad idea, but on Morgaine it's nothing less than hot.
