Stepping Out Naked

Psynopsis Bruno Frisoni Gold Shoes
Since I obviously had my rude day today – First I told my English colleagues in a meeting that Europeans are not interested in a currency called Pound Sterling, in fact they hardly know it exists (Ouch, that didn’t make me any friends); then I shouted in frustration on the tennis court (which made my partner just love me) – I sought consolation in the net-a-porter website which wooed me with their new blushed toned shoe selection. (But only after apologizing to everyone I could find, throwing myself on the floor and asking for forgiveness… Really? Nah... But let me just say I love everything English, including the currency!

Anyway, back to shoes… I first saw this idea of a leg lengthening, quasi non-visible device years ago in what I think was L’Wren Scott’s first collection* and immediately loved it. Last year I happily wore a pair of golden heels, which I thought worked pretty well, too... but am very tempted to go even nuder this summer.

Gold, beige and nude – good colours for shoes?

*I'm sure she wasn't the first one who came up with this idea, but as a stylist she nicely explained the concept of invisibly lengthening the leg. (She also had something to say about twisted, diagonal seems and how they make the legs look slimmer).

I love nude shoes!

I think nude shoes are a staple, but I don't have any yet. When it comes to metallics, I prefer silver. I do think when it comes to lengthening, nude would probably beat out the metallics?

I have rude days like that too by the way ;-)

aahhh.. doesn't Ne-A-Porter make any day a bit better? Its like ice cream w/out the calories (and more expensive) lol

Totally agree, nude and metallics are perfect all year round shades, very stylish and chic-love those shoes too!

Silver?!? You are giving me ideas here!
Cindy - so true! Net-a-Porter soothes the soul, plus all these fashion shows are making me slightly jittery...

I am OBSESSED with nude shoes! When worn with bare legs they make you look miles taller - and so elegant and glamorous. I really want to find a fabulous pair of nude wedges for the warmer months!! :)

Nude wedges?? Now we're talking... I think I'll have to start saving to get all the nude and silver shoes I want.

I have a pair of d'orsay gold peeptoe pumps I can't live with out! I've also been on the lookout for the perfect nude pair. I think the challenge is finding the right shade for your skin color.

Hee hee! Love your comment about the pound in a room full of the uptight British. Bet they loved it! :)

I love nude shoes, especially with all the candy colours around at the moment. Yummy!

I am all in on the nude shoes. But none of my heels would survive one day of cobblestones and rocky pavement in Copenhagen. Extremely frustrating. So my last year nude miu-miu splurge (fleshypink undersoles as well, mmm) are living it up. In the box.

Your post put a smile on my face, had to smile about the currency, about tennis..

Saw I missed already 2 posts, Sabine... Shame on me ...
Thinking at the moment of gold, nude and beige shoes... First thought I don´t like gold shoes but suddenly remember I have gold ballerinas in my closet which I actually like ;)

To be honest I wish England would join the Euro, the pound is like an obsession to some English people! Fabulous shoes you have there, light is defiantly better when it comes to foot wear for spring, especially for taking walks in pretty dresses :-)

i can't do gold, but i want to try beige and nude. the problem is that i am so PALE that beige and nude look rather awful on me. SIGH. and i make everything difficult in life. it is annoying, even to me. a hahahha.

I don't think there is such thing as a bad colour of shoes as every woman should have every shoe in every colour and every shade. Nuff said!

Nude shoes are definitely a must-have at the moment it seems, though, particularly as they have the wonderous effect of lengthening the leg - never a bad thing!

And I love the gold - I think they would look gorgeous with a navy dress/playsuit!

i love things about english, too. very interesting. your story is interesting.
great shoes, too, i find nude shoes are very sexy. they can magically elongate legs, too, which i don't really believe at first until the day i saw anna wintour rocked them. haha.

Nude shoes are magically leg lengthening. I'm still in mourning over a pair of gold Olivia Morris heels that I wrecked at a beach wedding last year. Wonder if they can be saved...

I think any shoe colour works. Just depends what you wear it with?

Nude is a definite favourite for me now.

I'm all for it, I love a nude shoe anytime!
Though nothing lengthens the naked leg as well as seemingly bare with an elevated heel come warmer days, simply effortless. They're a no-brainer when faced with outfit dilemmas. The fussier the outfit, the barer the shoe I say!

I cannot handle T-straps because they cut off my already short legs BUT I found the cutest T-strap heels in nude and it changed my life. They not only go with almost everything but my legs look such much longer. And the shoes never slip out of place.
