Balmain, Nearly

So, here the 2nd installment of 'Which trousers to wear this year?' (you've really inspired me)... We all know that Balmain is for the supercool party girl with legs like a giraffe, which guarantee that she still looks fabulous in Monsieur Decarnin’s extremely low-waisted trousers. And while nearly all designers went for high-waisted this year, Balmain stuck to low cut tight pants. The brand is hideously expensive and the high street offers all kind of look-a-likes, but it’s not really the same. At closer inspection the ‘real things’ are quite cleverly sewn and designed (the trousers for example have some kind of knee enforcement) and the fabrics are quite wonderful.
Sadly my trousers are not Balmain, they are just some cheap Uniqlo jeans which I tie-dyed.

jeans: uniqlo/diy, t-shirt: topshop, blazer : alexander mcqueen

Good tie dye job.

You are so creative!! Great job with those pants. I, for one, have human legs, and even if I could afford Balmain, I'd have to get their jackets.
Cute cute outfit. I really like that purse!

You do know what this outfit post indicates don't you, Sabine? That you should be a Balmain model! You look absolutely stunning in those jeans!! :)

Erika - Do you think I should apply. Ha ha, they'd be so LOLing (and I don't mean the Lots of Love version).

Make Do Style - Thank you! It was actually good fun.

Lisa Lisa Lisa - Balmain Jacket... I'd definitely say yes to them, too!

Balmain or not, the pants look fabulous on you. I wish I had some sort of DIY skills. But mine seem to be confined to designing the interiors of my house.

SabinePsynopsis said...

Mmmh, let me think, t... (it's been a while). I think I first bleached them (but not everything, just bits and pieces), then I knotted them tie-dye style and dyed them black. Then I bleached them again... Yes, something like that. I always think the surprise result is the best bit.

Ooh nice tie die job! Love Balmain, though it is neither very flattering to my figure or good for my wallet!

Perfect ensemble! The top, bag, jeans, hair... everything! I love Uniqlo and I can never walk out of there without having at least too many things in my shopping bag.

1. Congratulations for the blog, its great and I can see you put lot of work on it.
2. You (both) look great in the pictures.
3. Great job with the jeans, its nice to see you show everyone that with imagination and hard work you can have all you can't (or don't want)to buy.
I think the "quality/price" of Uniqlo is great and I hate we don't have it here in Spain.

Great job on the jeans! I'm always a tad scared when it comes to tie-dying things. I think it's the whole not knowing/not being able to control the outcome thing that scares me off haha.

Well you could have fooled me - I would have honestly believed you if you'd say they were Balmain trousers! Fantastic tye dying job, and I love the rest of the outfit too. Very glamorous!
Also, how did you get that messed up hair look? I've tried so many times to get that sort of roughed-up-but-still-cool-looking hair texture, but can never get it right!

SabinePsynopsis said...

Anna Jane - Thank you!!! If I told you I just washed it, put it all in a bun, went to play tennis, rushed home, put the clothes on, opened the hair, and threw myself in front of the camera... would you laugh? (I was a bit surprised that it looked so voluminous, too. But be assured, 2 hours later the hair was to its usual flat again.)

Great textures. The jeans remind me of something I did to a pair of black Guess jeans (it was the 80s when Guess was cool). They turned out the way yours did. Love it!
