Comme les Garçons

Psynopsis Vanessa Bruno Trousers Fendi Shoes Topshop Vest
The mind works by association... As it happens I was running around the house in an old shirt thinking of kitten heels (post to come!), then I read about Rei Kawakubo’s underground store in Hongkong on Haute World, see my neglected Vanessa Bruno suspender trousers lying around… Et voilà! Here’s my interpretation of the boyish look. Do you like walking around 'comme les garçons'?

trousers: vanessa bruno, vest: topshop, shoes: fendi

I had to review the post three times before forming an opinion. The outfit works well on your carriage, and you carry it off well. But I would update it with a masculine or feminine hat, and or gloves?

I love black&white!!
very beautiful dresses and photos!

@ Fashion, Art... - I absolutely agree with you. I was actually thinking of a hat, but I've only got an akubra which I had already used here. Gloves would have been a nice touch, though.

You rock "Like the guys" so well, with a lot of poise and creativity. Feminity with an edge alike.

I love the casual coolness of this outfit! Thanks for the encouragement yesterday.I hate getting awkward looks when I photograph, but I guess I got to get over it to get the good shots. Great B&W's by the way! Perfect for the theme :)

Thank you & you're welcome, Maddy. Some pictures just shout for black and white, I think.

I love black&white pictures especially with shots that implied a masculine look..It makes the whole outfit so perfect! But I think that a hat would have been cool with it too :)

Good point! This IS really commes les garcons. I have never been keen on this length on pants, but you pull it off great! Suspenders included.

I love your kitten heels! While I don't think I could pull off the boyish look, I quite like it on others so well done. :)
Haha this phrase always reminds me of a French song called "A Cause des Garcons", by Yelle.

Cool pictures, I really love the suspenders and the length of the trousers! Very chic.

I really like how you make the boyish look with the B&W pictures. Comme des Garcons?

I think wearing boyish clothes are nice but the cutting has to be well tailored if not we'll just look like guys.

You really look so cool in it! I know for sure that Rei Kawakubo would very much agree with me. I wish I could pull this off, but I simply feel a bit shy about anything that is boyish. I think to really work it you have to have a very slander, beautiful body (just like yours, my beautiful Sabine!:-)). Unfortunately, I am not that lucky.:-) Thank you so very much for all your kind wishes on the opening of my Atelier. I promise to make a post about it with loads of pictures very soon. :-) Have a wonderful, restful weekend!

You look great! I love the suspenders! Although I am no good at dressing boyish at all.

naomemandeflores said...

Oh, that's lovely!!! Perfect boyish outfit!

Anna Jane said...

Girl you look like something outta Vogue! Love the tailoring and the crisp, simple lines.

I love the commes des garcons look, but sadly I don't seem to pull it off all that well! Maybe I'm just not working it right. I'm thinking you should wear those looks with a trilby. Super hot!
