Psynopsis Bottega Veneta Sandals

Psynopsis Bottega Veneta Collage
Now, if I really had the discipline and, more importantly, the funds to decide for a capsule collection I think I would choose from Bottega Veneta’s s/s 2010 collection (which was, according to creative director Tomas Maier, inspired by kids’ karate suits) and is to me simplicity at its best.*

My first glimpse of Bottega Veneta’s woven bags (in 2002?) was love at first sight. I adore everything woven and you just knew the quality would make these bags lifelong companions. At that time I was still living in Berlin and the £ (net-a-porter was a UK only website then, charging in £) was sky high compared to the low valued €; so I (stupidly) thought 'I’ll wait, they might get cheaper'.
Later I bought a pair of Bottega Veneta sandals
, but I’ve got a hunch they are pre-Tomas Maier since something about their design doesn’t seem quite right and I hardly ever wear them.

The bags haven't gotten cheaper, but are still on my 'want-it-badly' list.

*Although, how about we up the funds, so I can have a pick from Céline and Dries van Noten, too?!

thank you for your designer suggestions, i will definitely take them into account! ooh lucky you, sharing a birthday was such a genius :) argh i read your lovely comment, and accepted it, although it decided not to publish! which has happened before with other comments, but hopefully it'll fix itself up like another comment incident this morning, where 12 comments didn't appear until 5 minutes later! sorry for the awfully long ramble, :) gorgeous post, i adore the little pops of red!

Fleur-de-Lis - Welcome back and Thank You!

CL - I'm confused...

Heather - Actually, they are really comfortable and kitten heels are supposed to have a huge comeback. (Will have to post about this.)

i love all things woven! there are tons of woven accessories here in Manila. yes, the amount of effort just to create a woven bag is just beautiful. and those kitten heels are so cute too :)

love the summery photos here :)

Sure, pull out the big guns and go for Dries van Noten. Yet, I'm still not sure about this capsule collection thing. I mean it's good in theory, but in practice . . . On the one hand, it's so hard to let go of some stuff. On the other, sometimes, Zara for example, has the cutest stuff, and although I know I should safe the money for something else, and I know I don't even really need it, I still get it. Dumb dumb dumb. Lol that seems like a good beat, but I'm so not liking the lyrics.

Your comment are so true, I know we are getting older, but still I want to experience, both good and bad eperiences, and thats a part of getting older.

@ Ioana Liliana - But isn't 'lusting after' about the things you dream of? Zara might be nice and all, but I normally don't 'lust' after Zara.
I don't think I'll ever go for a capsule collection/wardrobe either. One reason being that it would make for rather boring pictures if I could only share my 12 clothes.

I love these bags. I only just found out about them recently and I think they are quite amazing. I like the woven effect too.

Hmmmm, I never could get my head around Bottega Veneta bags. To me they don't look slouchy enough, but too stiff. But the clothes and especially the jewellery collections - a dream! Unfortunately even the fashion jewellery collection is quite expensive (but nevertheless worth it, if you ask me).

Oh, to be stinking rich, right? I love Bottega Venta but I was a tad disappointed by their last collection. The chintzy material and trashy colors were awful.
They do have gorgeous bags though. :)

I hate when I buy something I am excited about only to find that it never quite "fits" with me/my style/what I hoped for. Disappointment.
Start a real piggy bank! No one has those now a days.

Thank you for your comment! I can only imagine you gratefully attacking your closes ones. So cute.

So gorgeous. And blahh, you should reward yourself with the bag after you reach one of your goals! That totally justifys the price
