Psynopsis Giles Spider Dresses Collage

Psynopsis Giles Dresses Collage
Thanks to Kazuko, Clare and Rossovelvet I'm now in the know: The creepy crawly spider dress I was wondering about a few days ago is by Giles.

Before doing his own line Giles Deacon worked with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and was head designer for Bottega Veneta under Tom Ford. Whereas spring/summer was a veritable zoo, he abandoned all zoological references (apart from the beehive hairdo) for autumn/winter 2010 and went for slightly dishevelled 60s housewifes. Could he be a fan of Mad Men, too?

Spiderwoman or Mad Housewife – What's your preference?

I fancy both. But I prefer mad housewife. So glad you finally managed to find out the designer behind your dress. Happy Sunday:-)

Definately the mad housewife and love, love, love the big hair. Being an arachnophobic the spider stuff freaks me out, I can hardly bear to look at it.

I like the designs. What I don´t like is the fact that those animals are spiders- I hate spiders really, so I couldn´t wear those pieces.

it definitely had to be the mad housewife even though i really love the colours, fabrics and shapes of the spider woman. but: believe it or not - the spider dress has given me nightmares (literally), and I thought I was over it (when I saw that dress again on your first post I thought: hm, actually, spiders are beautiful and very delicate animals - and I felt happy and relieved). I'm such a freak :)

nice collage, anyway :) enjoy reading and viewing your blog every day!

btw: didn't know that giles also worked for bottega veneta (and under the genius tom ford). did you see giles' jewellery line? some pieces are also very nice.

Giles' 'Mad Housewife' is my preference! I love the brown cut-out dress. Actually, I'm not surprised he's worked with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac; I can definitely see some similarities.

I really hate bugs so these prints are on the borderline for me...I like the idea and the tailoring is gorgeous. The simplicity of the Mad Housewife is really stunning too.
