Clogs in Berlin

Psynopsis Orange Vintage Clogs
In my function as yourstruly Berlin trend spotter here some observations... When it comes to clogs, there are no Kurt Geigers or Chanels in sight; instead people are wearing the 'real thing'. (I asked my mum if she still had my old ones, but sadly they don't exist anymore.)

Ha ha, Sabine, trendspotting at a neurobiologi conference... so funny. I have this picture in my head of a lot of very practical and worn out footwear, but then again I have never been to a conference like that. I was just in Amsterdam, and you know they have the clogs on every shop corner. But not on their feet. I think the sneakers have taken over the practical function the clogs used to have.

I'd happily where the old style clogs. I know I've owned pairs in my life, it's so annoying how I don't keep hold of things!

The colour of those clogs is so cheerful and happy - In Germany everyone wears clogs - In Paris, well, that's a different matter;-)
Would have loved to see a picture of your old clogs - such a pity!
Oh, a neurobiology conference? That sounds like my kind of thing;)

Greetings,
I have some pink clogs that I used to love...had other pairs as well, but like your experience mine were donated to some place or another. Wish I still had my old ones as well:(

I love those old school clogs, they remind me of what I was wearing in the countryside when I was a kid

I actually have been falling in love with clogs but my boyfriend really hates them and get angry each time I speak about buying a pair. Here in Sweden it's also all about the real thing. Since clogs really are a Swedish thing and people tend to wear them at home. But in Paris I could spot the more Chanel-inspired ones. Which also is what I prefer more too. And hey, I didnt knnow you were from Germany, how cool! I love Germany. Ich spreche ein bischen Deutsch. Or rather: Ich verstehe ein bischen Deutsch!

I hope you had a good time while home. I've always thought about getting a pair of clogs. Maybe I'll have to break down and get a pair once I get to Berlin. Have a lovely week.

Well done for being the photo reporter at your dads conference. How did you find it?
Asking people if you can photograph them gets easier with time. But sometimes it is hard, it really depends what state of mind you are in. Hope you had a good weekend. Welcome back Xxxx

I'm back in the UK now. The weekend was squeezed with activity and fun (and it was HOT in Berlin, which I loved!)

Ferferi - Ja, ich bin in Berlin aufgewachsen. Wir koennen uns also immer auf deutsch unterhalten.

Fashionistable - I know what you mean. In the beginning it was weird, but after a while they got used to it. There was a moment of horror when I had to take a group picture (of around 120 people) and the camera striked. Arghh!

Welcome back! Hope you had a wonderful time with your darling papa! Loving the sound of a neurobiology conference.
I adore those old-skool clogs, the colour is so wonderfully summery. My heart would surely skip a beat if I spotted those at a boot sale.

Nice! Those are the real thing, right? I used to have some Chanel Dr. Scholls. I mean, they weren't Dr. Scholls, they were Chanel, but they were that style. Hmmm, I miss those things, not sure what happened to them! Glad you had a good trip, Sabine!

Wooden clogs - love them! Can't say I see these very often, but they seem to be making a come back on the runways. Crazy how fashion goes through cycles. Enjoy your week. =)

ok, ok so they're not chanel. But the color is amazing and the true-to-true aspect of these legitimate clogs is kind of amazing. I've been looking for a 'regular' pair myself..There's something about the sky-high clogs that I can't get into..Can't quite walk in heels yet (at 25...ahem..sad I know...) so I'd look a fool if I tried the designer's updated clog..

Love that you manage to find something fashiony at that conference though! hah!
