Ouch!

My hopes of getting the jacket of my dreams... Up in smoke! Do you think it just wasn't to be?* Phhh… It's only a jacket (I tell myself). There will be another chance (I tell myself). Don't be so materialistic; was waaaay too expensive anyway! (husband says). But why do I feel like Christmas has been cancelled?

To get things into perspective and because I haven’t managed to take pictures (blame
the football, blame my disappointment - ach, today I’m happy to blame anything…) here’s a picture of my youngest niece who I've only just met for the first time a few days ago. Living beings, so much more important than things! Ahh, now I’m already feeling much better!
And from an aesthetic point of view – Do you think there is a secret urge in mums to match their outfits with their baby’s?

*Yes, I did check net-a-porter, but they don't have THE jacket and their sale prices sadly don't compare.

Ugh, sorry, I hate that feeling. Save a search for it on eBay, maybe it will pop up one day!

SabinePsynopsis said...

Good idea, Caroline! It sounds pathetic, but I have never bought anything from ebay before. Ebay and Etsy are 2 shopping sites still to be discovered for me.

don't understand how the hell that could happen. it sucks to let down customers like that. we always value our clients' choice when running our shop. anyway, just sing que sera sera - if it belongs to you, it will eventually come your way.

oh i feel with you. totally. i hate when this happens (by the way - when it happened to me they first cancelled my order then surprised me a couple of weeks later by sending the item - so there is hope, no?). have you checked here if any other shop has your jacket? http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/shop?query=rick+owens
good luck!

SabinePsynopsis said...

Thank you, Kazuko, that's a great link. Right now they don't offer 'my' jacket, but I will keep looking (and naturally I did email Liberty that if by any chance the jacket comes back in I'd be a happy customer).

oh, so sorry! Sad:(

Sorry about your jacket. Your niece is lovely though and nice of her to turn up instead to cheer you up. Xxxx

SabinePsynopsis said...

Fashionistable - Thank you! I have to say I adore babies, especially the children of my siblings. I want to be 'fun aunt' to them. (My brother always says I'll spoil his daughter with shopping trips. Oh, I'd love that!)

oh no! sorry to hear about the jacket. I am sure a better one will come along. I know this sounds silly, but i have had this done to me before but only to get something completely better. One of the worse things that i do regret is selling my amazing Rick Owens jacket on ebay (i don't know what i was thinking!)

I do use Ebay & recently discovered Etsy. These sites are very good if you are looking for something in particular. I always find ebay good for vintage pieces etc. Do you know about vintage RAZZA necklaces?

darling i am so sorry to hear about the jacket issue. the worst thing when you really want something is if it is out of stock or something else like that.

have you tried ebay for it?

You should keep posting about on here and in forums, there might be someone with it who is looking to sell.

Sorry about the jacket :( Sometimes things aren't meant to be. But I do hate when that happens, it can be so frustrating! However, your niece is such a doll!!! So glad you finally got to meet her. I have nieces that live in Florida, so I rarely get to see them. Everytime I do, they've grown a foot each *sigh*

I'm with Caroline - save a search with eBay. I'm doing the same thing for a pair of shoes that I've been coveting but which have been discontinued. Best of luck, my love - it will pop up one day!! :)

That sucks Sabine...I feel ya'
but I agree with the above comments!
Also remember the 'want or need' question we ask ourselves,,,but again usually my answer would be both...haha*

BUMMER Sabine!

But YES - I had to chuckle at the question about Mom's and babes. I have oodles of pictures with me and my girls in matching outfits. Just had a terrible case of the "cutsies" when my girls were little. Couldn't help it :)

Haha! I think there is that urge to dress like your child- or to get the attention that your child gets. And why did you change your outgoing message?
So sorry about the jacket. My husband would be relieved also. To that I say "Buy me something else!"

Oh noooo! Poor you! Well, it only means that there is a better jacket out there just waiting for you to find it! Cute baby, and yes, I think some moms do dress their babies like them, this can be troublesome if there is lots of pink involved!

Oh no! What a disappointment :-( I'd feel like my Christmas had been cancelled if I had been all ready and prepared to fork out loads of money only to find my purchase has failed.

How dissapointing! Better luck next time with the jacket. And yes, I think moms are often in the mood for a certain look or colour and it reflects in their child's attire too. I can't wait to have kids just to dress 'em up ;)

Thanks for your comment!

really think there is a secret urge to dress like the baby. I see it in Indian weddings, where small boys (especially) are made to wear traditional clothes matching with their dads or in some cases the groom..! :) Your niece looks stunning!
