Anticipation

I don't know how long I've been lusting after a Rick Owens leather jacket. A while. Definitely after I saw the clever cut and came to feel the buttery soft leather of the jacket. So when the Liberty London sale started I checked the collection; but the only reduced leather jacket was black – and with a dark blue suede bomber jacket already in my wardrobe that wasn’t what I was looking for.

Do you know this feeling when you’re disappointed, but also a bit relieved because not getting something actually means you’re saving A LOT of money? 'Off the hook' I thought. But next day I checked again and there it was – my dream jacket: light grey, high collar, super soft suede… I was committed, wasn’t I? There was really no way around it (I keep telling myself).
The jacket should arrive in the next few days and fingers crossed I like it and it fits* – because otherwise I have a biiiig voucher at Libertys. (& to shorten the waiting time I’m wearing my only other Rick Owens piece, a black sheer dress.)

*Might this be the reason for my praying-like position?

Wishing you all a great start to the new week!

I know that feeling, the combination of sadness and relief when an item isn't in my size! Very nice dress :-)

oh your new jacket sounds amazing! i'm a sucker for all things leather & grey (why does an elephant come to mind?!), so it's perfect :) looking gorgeous as always, i love everything sheer, as well!

wow, can't wait to see! light grey suede - sounds like perfection in a leather jacket.

Oh, I promise to share my delight or disappointment, whatever it is.

Thank you, Chantelle. I love everything sheer, too. Actually I really want one of these new sheer trousers!

Eliza - Thank you! As much as I love it, I actually don't wear this dress very often. It makes me feel a bit underdressed (which is why I wear it on the internet for everyone to see, naturally) ;-)

I get those moments *ALL* the time - where I'm lusting for something and relieved it's unavailable. But I guess it must be fate that you have this jacket ;o) Can't wait to see it on you!!

BTW - Thanks for your lovely comment on today's post. I was debating whether to share or not, but it seemed wrong to write about Father's Day without sharing about my dad. Part of me hope that he stumbles upon my blog and gets a chance to read it someday.

Love the RO dress on you and I bet the jacket will look GREAT! the color sounds wonderful. I have the black one and had to have it shipped from Browns in London to the USA (duty charges - ugh) Can't wait to see pics!!

That dress really is something on you. With the light it creates a very interesting silhouette.

Although a leather jacket isn't exactly seasonal, a RO jacket is timeless, so I would be very excited if I were you! I'm guessing you're praying for a cold turn in the weather now? haha xx

Ah, you have just vocalized my feelings about certain items. Sometimes it is the most amazing thing to realize that I can't buy something simply because my size isn't available!! :)

I have dreamed of a Rick Owens leather jacket for the longest time. For me it would have to be black. But now that everybody is trying to copy him (in black), I think it is wise to go for a different color. As if I was faced with making that choice anytime soon, haha. Congratulations on the jacket! :-) Sandra

bah! you described this so well!

i hope you love the jacket. and if not, it will be ok. the big ticket items feel me with dread and anticipation. and when they work out, they fill me with glee and guilt!

Well best thing is to take a photo of you in said jacket:)
We will try from cyber space to be fair and impartial judge.
The thing that worries me is that it is not suitable for rainy weather!!!
In that case it becomes a dy-no-mite display peice in a promiinate place in your home. :)
Alex
and the dress, lovely
