Going Hunting against the Big Chill

Psynopsis Malene Birger Dress Georgina Goodman Shoes 2nd Hand Belt and Bag

Psynopsis Malene Birger Dress Georgina Goodman Shoes
It's not very innovative, but when I'm sad I like to go shopping. (And all this cold, stormy weather is making me pretty depressed.) Throwing myself between the racks, eyes firmly on heaps of clothes, adrenaline pumping… helps. It’s not even about getting something. Buying is probably not recommendable anyway – the last time I did 'compensation shopping' I bought this Malene Birger dress. 'Why???' I'm asking myself now. I never wear over-the-knee length and frills are really not for me – Although blowing in the wind it’s actually not too bad.

Off to London… Hugs & Kisses!

*Sorry to go on about the weather. I know some of you are actually suffering from way too much heat. Lately my mum and I have established a recurrent dialogue: '18°C? That's nice and fresh. We've got 40°C (100°F) again…. Exhausting!' 'Couldn't you send some warmth over?' 'Couldn’t you send some of your fresh English weather to us in Berlin?'… Weather, it's never right!

dress: malene birger, sweater: eric bompard, belt & bag: 2nd hand, shoes: georgina goodman

I actually think you look stunning in that dress!

As for the weather, I'm soooo with you. Returning from a sunny 30+ C in Croatia every day for almost two weeks, to windy, rainy and cold Oslo has been so depressing. I'm desperatly waiting for a sunny day to go to the beach to maintain my holiday tan, but so far no dice.

Ruffles, belt and a pretty black dress; So French! As for the weather; I welcome the rain after endless days of scortching Sun.

I'm sure the flowers and trees are happy, too, however, I am sad to hear that the weather makes you unhappy. Have fun shopping and enjoy the weekend;-)

I really like that dress... And I am surprised that it is a Malene Birger, because she is usually not my flavour. But I am totally with you on the shopping/browsing distraction, the hunt takes your mind off things. Buying make up is one of my favourite pick-me-up's, I just went overboard in the terracotta line from Guerlain, AH! Satisfaction, haha.

I love this dress on you! I think the length is perfect and reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. You are so beautiful!

I can see why you bought this dress, it's gorgeous! You can always shorten the hem and if the frills are too much, pair it with a boyfriend blazer to give it an edgier look. :)

Have an amazing weekend!!

I disagree...I think that dress is stunning! Hope your mood improved!

Maddy said...

Why did you buy it, you ask?? Because it looks phenomenal on you! A little on the conservative side, but the buttons on the top and the sheerness make up for the modest length.

Ah and I like to shop when I'm happy... which isn't very good because then I'm willing to spend more and I need to save!

You do look lovely in the dress though - and adding belts always adds that extra pop. I do hope the weather begins to cooperate for you soon and that your trip to London is going well. =)

How did I miss this??

Ohhh, I hope you're no longer feeling sad, we all have our days... and our impulse buys! Although this one looks gorgeous on you despite not being as you say, your style.

Shopping as therapy... hmmm... if I'm feeling a bit down or have writers/workers/thinkers block then I go op-shopping!! Nothing like finding a mega bargain to jolt the jollies back in to you!
