Senseless

Odors have a power of persuasion stronger than that of words, appearances, emotions, or will. The persuasive power of an odor cannot be fended off, it enters into us like breath into our lungs, it fills us up, imbues us totally. There is no remedy for it. (Patrick Süskind, The Perfume)

When one of my favourite bloggers, Shari of
Little Blue Deer recently posted beautiful pictures of perfume bottles it reminded me of how much I a) like pretty bottles and b) love perfume. Rose Noir, Bal d’Afrique, Pulp… I’m totally addicted to my perfumes (often using one in the morning and a different one in the afternoon... ah, so frivolous!).

What about you? Perfume addict or all for keeping it natural?

I'm in between perfume addict and keeping it natural. I love scents and I love to smell nice, but I *really* don't like strong perfumes (they give me allergies in fact!) I prefer woody scents like vanilla, rather than artificial perfume-type scents if that makes any sense! :P

I have been devoted to the same perfume forever, and now I have become immune to the scent, it is like it is not there. If I can't have that perfume, I won't wear any, sigh. (Maybe this comment will be eaten by Blogger?) :-) Sandra

Success! Which perfume are you using, I wonder.

I'm actually not a perfume kind of girl. I only wear Viktor & Rolf whenever I'm feeling like I need a little something extra, but I usually just keep it fresh and natural! I do love pretty perfume bottles! If they weren't so pricey at times, I would buy it just for the bottles!

BTW - Have fun in Berlin and hopefully, the bug will go away. My stomach is still not 100%, but at least I'm not as awful as I was on Sunday.

I actually adore perfume myself; though only a select few scents. I'm partial to Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds, to be honest - I receive so many compliments on it.

Have a fabulous time in Berlin, my love!! :)

I love perfumes, but I'm very particular about them. Many scents give me a headache. My husband isn't a fan though, so I've gotten into the habit of just using some body splash from Victoria's Secret. I love the picture of all the beautiful bottles!

Hope you feel better!

All for perfume! And different bottles for different occasions and moods.

My current favourites are Black XS for evening and the new Juicy Couture fragrance for day. I love how different fragrances can make me feel like a totally different girl. Black XS makes me feel mysterious and sexy, whilst Juicy Couture makes me feel girly, and sweet. I agree that smell can definitely have quite the power over an individual!

Great blog :) Will be back!

I'm a big perfume person. Have you read that book, Sabine? Perfume? (the one the quote is from) it's really brilliant.
I'm wearing ONLY Chloe's signature perfume this summer for some reason, but by fall I'll bring something else back, I'm sure! I have 10-15 bottles sitting in my cabinet as it is! Yikes.

Feel better and enjoy your trip!

I adore perfume but never seem to be able to afford it! I adore Penhaligon's Bluebells and Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel. If only I could afford to keep myself in such decadent smells! x
