Take 10 #1 – The Lace Vest

We've been thrown straight into the deep end with this lace vest from Dorothy Perkins.
Now I'm not a big connaisseur on frills and laces, but when I'm challenged with a black, sheer top something in me shouts rather loudly: Dolce & Gabbana (i.e. red lipstick, pencil skirt and high heels… and a proper handbag, naturally). But perhaps it's all just part of my
Italian reminiscencing?

Anyway, seeing how the other girls styled the vest makes me realise… The possibilities are endless. Don’t forget to also check out the styling ideas of Sarah, Jen, MJ, Sherin, Leia, Vicki, Adele, Saskia and Shini!

skirt: antonio berardi, bra: la perla, shoes: cesare paciotti, bag: 2nd hand, vest: c/o dorothy perkins

Black lace is special - not as dainty as white lace - more Glamorous and so French, too!

Nice to see how the other bloggers styled their lace vest. Goes to show how creative all of You are.
Perhaps one day you can teach me how to be as stylish and chic;-)

Ahhh, love it. I love the project and think it is really interesting, but this is by far the 'edgiest of the 10 looks I think and therefore made me 'yay' inside. Have you seen the recent D&G campaign with Madonna? Bella!

It is super interesting to see the concept brought to life. And funny how you were the only one using it with bare arms, I approve! I really like quite af few of the options, and I expect it is going to be fun to se what else you are going to try on 10 different ways. hi from Sandra

You did it fab, love the ladylike handbag! And those tennis playing arms, go Sabine! I thought that piece of hair in your face was a cigarette for a second, I was getting excited, it added that touch of edgy chic (but smoking is bad, right?). XX my dear!

I absolutely love this Take 10 project!! What a fun idea :) I'm personally not a fan of lacy things, so this piece would've probably been a closet orphan. But after seeing all the suggestions from the other ladies, I might have to be on the lookout for a similar piece here in the States! By the way, I love your pairing! It's very chic and very Sabine!! And that picture of the men in Italy is just divine! YOU inspire me :)

Hey there! I know I've been out of touch lately, but between going on vacation and the design of the new blog, plus, well, live, I've neglected my favourite blogs. And I've really been missing seeing what you come up with! The lace vest looks awesome, very feminine, sexy, yet stylish and classy. I'm also flirting with the thought of a see-through bra, it look so good on you. And the red lipstick, perfect!

Hugs&kisses,

Okay, no offence to Saskia or Shini who I know and consider friends - and I love their styling - but yours wins in my book. I love the whole look, down to the ladylike bag. I am so not a black lace vest type of girl, but the idea of closing the buttons and making it a top - a kind of La Dolce Vita dress - is inspired.

How did I not know your blog til now? You're going on my 'daily reads' list soon as I send this. I don't understand, you're part Italian but you live in the UK and you've just been visiting friends in Italy with a villa? I've got Italian friends with a villa, I've had great holidays in past years but this summer we kind of crossed paths - my good friend was here while I was in the carribean - also visiting a rich friend with servants.

This is a rather long comment from a total stranger. Apologies. I'm just scratching my head that it's taken me this long to find your fabulous blog. I've glanced thru some other great posts & realised I've got a lot o' catching up to do. Thank you!

Sooo stunning. I have never been into lace until this season, and it was combined with some comtemp looks. I definitely think black lace requires red lipstick. No exceptions.
Great blog.
