Arezzo’s Delights

I feel bad about not going to London Fashion Night Out today, but I’ve been out the last few evenings, don’t really want to spend any money, and - let's face it - plainly too lazy… Oooooh, how will I ever become a proper fashion blogger with an attitude like this?!? And I know, as soon as I read all your posts about how much fun FNO was I’ll have a huge fit of remorse – Oh well. Instead I’m back in Italy…

If you ever plan to visit the
biggest Italian antique market don’t be fooled by the official date of 'first weekend in the month'! We arrived the first Saturday of August, full of anticipation to feast our eyes and wallets on beautiful things (it’s where I got one of my favourite silk blouses from, and K needed to organise extra transport for her purchases last year) – just to learn that the market is on the Saturday before the first Sunday of the month. Didn't really matter, though, Arezzo is a wonderful town without market, too – and no market means far fewer tourists.

I really wonder what 'Chi Tocca Muore' means.

All photos taken in Arezzo, Italy

That looks like my dream destination, Sabine. Ancient, hot, dusty and full of antiques. I think I'd be uncontrollable. I'm toying with a road trip to one in Brussels, I'd get so much stuff in the back of the campervan...sigh!
There seems to be lots of bloggers giving London Fashion Night Out a miss this evening, is it the new austerity? xxx

Oh, I'm sure you'll love Arezzo, Vix!
Personally I blame the New Moon, the energy seems to be extremely low today, pretty much in all areas.

I love Arezzo.... and yeah, same about the Night Out, I could have gone to Milan or Paris but I guess I'm just REALLY lazy.

I'm glad you're lazy too, but who but you can tell me what 'Chi Tocca Muore' means?

You're in Italy again? I swear, we need a blogger meet up in Europe somewhere so all us Americans can vacay and meet you all. And seriously, I know what it's like to just need to stay in. Good for you!

I'm not really in Italy, but at home in the UK... but after having seen Inception and Avatar last week I've realised - reality doesn't matter anymore these days.

Blogger meet-up sounds great to me!

Beautiful photos Sabine. I also really enjoyed reading your thoughts on fashion blogging and how it makes sense to you, and I think I feel the same way - that taking pictures of ourselves is a way to share our creativity. Honestly I am not a vain person and don't just want to promote a 'look at me' attitude, which is why I find it so strange to take pictures of myself!

Anyway, I feel like a bit of a failure as a fashion blogger because I'm not going to FNO (even though most of the events are about 20 minutes away from where I live!) nor LFW. Ah well!

Oh it looks gorgeous! I'd keep going back there if I were you too. Forget London :)

As for FNO, I'm feeling the same and utterly lazy. It's Friday here but I think I'm going to skip it. Now I don't feel so bad :)

It seems to me that everybody is skipping FNO. I think people are busying themselves for 'the main event' LFW next week.

That Italian town looks incredible.

The translation on google for 'Chi Tocca Muore' is 'Who touches dies'....Oooooh I hope no-noe touched it. Scary.
I love the rustic colours in the shots. Looks like a beautiful place. Xxxx

what beautiful pics! the insigna means " who touches dies", like Fashionstable wrote, and it is usuallly the sign that is displayed each time near electric cables here in Italy. Even though I'm Italian, I've never been to Arezzo, what a shame! thanks for telling me about their vintage market, I must go there absolutely!

Thank you, fashionistable and sioux! Who touches dies... Ouch!

I caught the last few hours of FNO, but I didn't buy anything. It was just fun people watching the vast amounts of fashionistas on the streets!

funny you should say that... I am not going to LA's FNO on Friday either. Too much to do and leaving Sat AM for a shoot in Chicago. But I know I'll read about "how it was" and wish i had gone (-:

Don't feel bad about not going FNO! NYC's Fashion's Night Out it tomorrow. I am going, but I found it very overwhelming last year! SO don't stress yourself.

But don't get so stressed that you can't show us these incredible images :)
