Hip Again

High-waisted is wonderful. It makes legs look longer and hugs the female body in all the right areas. It looks elegant and always pulled together… BUT sometimes I have to revert to my low-cuts, for the one simple reason: I need some breathing space. (I didn’t spend all these years on yoga just to return to an anxious upper thorax breathing, thank you very much.)

See the black sweater? Buying it in an Oxfam shop came with the most wonderful conversation… 'Cool' I think, 'a nice cropped angora sweater for £2. I’ll have it, please.' I meander to the cash which is covered by a friendly, elderly gentleman "Oh, nice find," he says "What is it?". "Isn’t it lovely? It’s angora wool which is made from rabbit hair – so soft!" I enthuse. Blank look from him: "I see, but WHAT IS IT?" – "Oh… It’s a SWEATER." ('Duh!' No, I didn’t say 'duh', he was really nice, in his 70s and obviously new in his job) (I might have looked 'duh' though.)

But what about you? Have you thrown out all the old hipsters to become a pure high-waisted girl this winter?

Hi Ggorgeous lady! I'm still trying to find the perfect high-waisted trousers, so much more ladylike than all that pants-exposure from trashy low-rise. Love the angora sweater and the sandals, too. I adore the volunteers in charity shops, we have the most bizarre conversations.
How sad about Mike Edwards, everyone said he was such a lovely person. Hope you're okay xxx

I stopped wearing hipsters around a year ago! It just not flattering on my figure, which is curvy around the middle section - high waists just cover up all of that and make me feel more comfortable! Also I find that bending down in hipsters is a bit awkward.

You look lovely as usual and I especially love the sparkles!

I love high waisted...so stlyish!

I love high waisted everything but all my jeans are actually low waisted because jeans plus a high waist add too much bulk around the middle on me. You look gorgeous in these photos!

oh i envy you - it seems like you just throw on anything and it looks good. your body looks so toned.

however, i wear only low waist jeans because they're so comfortable. from time to time i see really cool looking high waisted pants (or skirts), but i feel that they don't suit me because i'm so tiny. plus: they make me feel very corporate somehow which is not me.

great look...i like lower waist jeans but not so low that when i sit down they go 1/2 down my bum...i cant stand that!

I'm always looking for mid-rise.

It depends on your body shape. Doesn't it? Some people will just go for certain trends without first considering this.

Hi there-I love high waisted, but only every now and then for the same reason too!! Love the fluffy sweater!!

I love the whole look! You look fabulous as always, sweetie :)

And I have to admit I'm kinda scared to have to put on pants again. I've had a blissful summer filled with wearing nothing but unrestrictive skirts and dresses. Back to reality I guess.... :)

i can't wear High waisted toursers or even Yoga pants. I always roll them down. Same reason - I need some breathing space! :) Your YOga toned body is visible in the pictures, now that you mention it :)

I must confess that high-waisted trousers is indeed very flattering on your figure, Sabine - you can get away with wearing almost anything. Your angora jumper is so pretty, too.

Ah, what charming scenery - perfect for painterly photographs such as the ones above;-)

you have such a fab figure, that you can wear anything!

pants/jeans are the hardest thing for me to get just right. every year i go in search of the perfect jeans, and it is NOT easy. but i love that so many choices and styles are available -- it helps!

Hhmmm, I don't tend to do high waisted trousers as I think they're a little too hippy for me. I do love high waisted shorts and skirts though!

You look fab here. Slinky hips, Sabine! :) x

I've actually never tried anything high-waisted. Have just assumed it'll look bad on me as I'm pear-shaped. Might give it a try. xx

Even though I absolutely love high-waisted, I did buy some low waist jeans yesterday for winter. Good for pigging out at Christmas.

I am short waisted, so I just look awful in high waisted pants, for me a mid rise is best!

Oh no!! I just wrote a long comment and it got deleted. oh well!! I was thinking of you the entire time at the Open, especially since you're the only tennis player I know! It was fun, I think you'd really enjoy it!

As for trousers, my work trousers are all high waisted. I just think the look is more appropriate for the workplace. However, my denim is all hipster :)

I've been high-waisted for a while, but I also like 'mid-cut' if that sounds like a word?
But then I seldom wear pants, so for shorts I tend to choose the high-waisted option!!!

Thank you for coming by, you know I completely forgot in all these months to do the 'About' page? ahah! I'm glad you liked it tho... and yeah, I look forward to meet you in London!!

I am too used to low cuts to try high wasted, unless they come in the form of sailor shorts, then I am all about high wasted!
I like your outfit a lot!
