Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! It means A LOT (and I MEAN it! I do check my emails at night, you know...). The weekend consisted of eating well, drinking better, sleeping cosy, getting wonderful presents (an 18-250mm lens – a beast! - J says he doesn’t want to be my lens exchange/holding slave anymore). Now, feeling pampered (if slightly blurred), it’s back to reality and getting into gear for fashion weeks – mentally at least, since neither Vivienne Westwood nor Julian McDonald remembered to invite me to their shows. Shame!

Just when Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar & Co. introduced us to next season’s looks (camel, more camel, oh look, even more camel, high-waisted, tapered trousers, full-length skirts, early 60s look… I tell you, if I hear Mad Men one more time as a fashion reference I'll have a crying fit) and before we even started shopping for our winter outfits our eyes are drawn to summer… It's exciting and I wonder... Are you going to the shows or will you mainly be an online watcher like me?

All pictures taken in The Plough, Kingham, Oxfordshire. (Okay, I admit I did turn my head to see if Alex James was sitting at the bar, but I guess he leaves his favourite pub to the non-professionals at the weekend.)

Thank you, Sleekit! I do love the show and watch it religiously, but to use it as a constant fashion reference really does get boring.

Happy belated birthday,Sabine!

These photos are wonderful, there's something melancholic about them that really touches my heart.

I've read through all of your posts that I have missed this summer - there were so many gorgeous images - and obvioulsy, your choice of holiday destination was a very beautiful one. And thank you for the award you passed onto me in July. I'm sorry I haven't gotten around to it until now, but I'll do a post about shortly and feature it.

Such a peaceful set of photos. You should definitely have your own home and garden magazine. These photos reminds me of their issues from the 60s.

Sorry!! Not much of a fashionista over here, so I'll just be catching up on whatever I read in blog world. But I'm drooling over your new lens!!! I laughed when you said "lens exchange/holding slave". That's the hubby's job too! Hahaha!!! You gotta love them :P Enjoy your new baby, I'm sue you'll put it to good use.

And thank you for your comment today! I won't always keep it this short! I figure as long as I can keep blogging, even if it's short posts, then I won't get so clogged up that I won't neglect it altogether. It's my happy medium for now :)

Glad you had a wonderful birthday weekend, my beautiful friend. It would have been rather marvellous to have spotted the divine Mr James but your new camera and the wonderful surroundings must have made up for it.
I'm fed up with Mad Men, too. That style of dress does nothing for me and that size 14 ample body is as unattainable as a size 0. xxx

Glad you had a fabulous bday sweetie! And what a fabulous gift! Did you take these gorgeous photos with it?

I'm just watching the shows again this season. It's my second season not actually attending and I have to admit I'm not that bummed about it. It can get so hectic but I was kind of curious about the new venue...being moved from Bryant Park to Lincoln Center this season. Oh well, there's always Feb :)

Have a wonderful Monday, sweetie! xoxo

I could kill for that drawer. Most amazing one I've ever seen. First I thought it was yours. Too bad it isnt, now I can't ask where it is from. I like your photo montage here, so melancholic and peaceful. Happy to hear you had a good birthday and that you liked the wishes. It does mean a lot those little small things, doesn't it? Regarding FW, online this year I guess. Too bad yet comfortable! Agree about Mad Men, it's not that innovative anyway?

i love your photos! i feel like you should have your own magazine. you should!

the mad men references are getting a TINY BIT OLD, no? bleh! i think we get so enamored with things in life and then we expose them and clamor on about them relentlessly, and then we KILL THEM with overexposure. this happens time and time again. we are fickle and we move on. NEXT!

Never heard of this Mad Men thingy - see - I take it this confirms that I am not a fashionista. Glad you had a happy day celebrating your birthday, my lovely. And I'm sure you are happy with your nice presents;-)
Am sure you took the photographs above - I adore the grainy, soft, somewhat bitter-sweet feeling to them;-)

Ahhh, cant believe I am late HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sabine. Looks like you had a wonderful day. And an 18-250 lens great present from J. I am sure you will have fun with that. I am going to LGW but get to be outside mostly. Quite frankly for me it is a good place for my people watching/shooting. I have one show to go to which is the UNTOLD show at the design museum on Monday night. Xxxx

Too bad vivienne didn't invite you, she doesn't know what she is missing.lol. I agree with you there is going to be a lot of camel and white tones in the fashion world!
