Diamonds, a Girl’s Best Friend?

When I took a picture of her I noticed the interesting necklace she was wearing. 'My sister is designing them' she said, 'she's exhibiting at London Fashion Week'. I didn’t manage to check it out, but it got me thinking about jewellery… I don’t wear any. Dangly earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets… just feel weird to me. But most of my friends say they feel 'naked' without their trusted jewellery. Mmmhh, a pair of diamond earrings maybe? They shouldn’t be in the way.

What about you? Do you wear jewellery? Lots of it? Little selected pieces or are you going for the full monty?

Before I saw the necklace I noticed the pink one-piece. How could one not?!

oh it's gorgeous, i'll bet she'll be really pleased with this publicity :-)

I think she would have been even more pleased if I had remembered the name of the designer, but perhaps she'll contact me...

I wonder if the necklace is by Little Glass Clementine, featured in The Taxonomy of my Wardrobe last month? I know Veshoevius took these photos at LFW.

Oh, what a coincidence. I think you are right, Cloud of Secrets! Thank you so much for the tip!

Glad if we have an identity match!

As for personal jewelry -- I always like to be wearing at least white gold ball studs or my yellow gold-set CZ studs (not ready for thousands of dollars of diamond in my earlobes yet....) I'd feel naked without a teeny bit of glint, and I don't want my ear piercings to close up! I'll then don at least a small necklace if I'm going out. I do try to put on more striking jewelry for special outfits or occasions. Because my clothing is pretty simple, I rely on jewelry for added interest.

Okay, the designer is Little Glass Clementine, and you can read more about it at Taxonomy of my Wardrobe.

I have a feeling bracelets are on their way. And I tried hooking an earring in my lobe just yesterday, but I still can't deal with things hanging from my ears. Not even clips, although I keep buying cool vintage ones. At the moment I am selling out of my jewellery, the mesh stuff, the rhinestones and the figural brooches. Selling to buy more, I am unstoppable, haha.

Oh it's lovely! And so is the pink jumpsuit :) I wear cocktail rings. A lot. And sometimes bracelets and bangles and every now and again a necklace. I used to be heavier on the bangles and necklaces but lately i've been feeling more minimilistic. Nothing but rings.

Have a fabulous weekend, sweetie! And so interesting...I won't tell ur secret :) xoxo

Have an amazing weekend!!!
P.s I'm not a big jewelry person but I do love the look of it, on those with great style

That's such a pretty necklace! I don't wear a lot of jewelry, really. I have one pair of diamond stud earrings and another pair of tiny saphhire studs that I alternate between most days, and some days I'll wear a small necklace. I DO love buying jewelry, though, even if I only wear it now and then!

I love jewelry so much! Unfortunately necklaces like that hurt my neck and earrings make my ears hurt. Alas, I let myself suffer way more with other things for the sake of beauty.

I adore that necklace!
I do wear jewelry, quite regularly. I always have my nose stud, dolphin ring and a necklace on, and if I'm going out I add earrings, maybe bracelets and sometimes more rings :P I love the bling!

wow, neon pink for a one-piece... bold choice, but she pulls it off. both girls are lovely!

jewellery... i love wearing my classic little things every day - amongst them a delicate white-gold diamond necklace, a gift from my father after i had graduated from university. i remember my mother ranting: "she doesn't need a diamond necklace, you should have bought her a decent sofa for her empty apartment." and she was actually right, but today i'm glad i have the necklace :D

oh, and thanks for sharing the link, girls! :D the necklaces she does are super beautiful!

They are some extremely stylish ladies!

I absolutely love the necklace, I've been admiring them for ages and just haven't gotten around to try to make one.

I definitely recommend branching out into jewelry, I don't wear a ton, but I find it makes pulling together or spicing up an outfit a lot easier.

I hardly ever wear jewellery - and when I do it's mostly Family Heirloom pieces and so forth.

I adore that clean refined look which comes with minimal or no jewellery, but I like the trend of bulky jewellery on others rather than on myself.

I do have a few modern pieces which I adore. I tend to prefer brooches rather than earrings.
Excellent topic, Sabine!;-)

I wear very little jewellery. Only for special occasions. I have a necklace my boyfriend gave me, that i wear all the time though.

my opinion on jewelry: i think it depends on the person. some won't be caught dead without, and some just cannot be bothered. either way it's what the person's style suits them.

I feel naked without my jewellery, the bigger the better in my book. If I'm not clanking and rattling I feel like I've lost my power.
That's an inspired idea for a necklace, I've got so much junk lying about I may attempt one myself. xxx

Fantastic - I didn't see that stuff whilst going round the exhibitions, it looks amazing!

I love jewelry - real, faux etc. So fun to mix up your look w/it. I am always wearing my Loree Rodkin Earrings and tons of thin string/leather/bead bracelets. (-:

I completely understand why these 2caught your photographic and stylish eye Sabine!! and that hot pink is just.... oh drool!!!

I wear lots of jewelry! I go through phases of focus... bangles, rings, earrings, necklaces, watches... body harnesses, anklets, kneelets (truly!)... the only time I do not have any jewelry on is when I am doing an athletic activity, yoga, acropole, etc. AND...when i get home, the first thing I do is take off all my jewelry! As much as I love embellishment I don't like it to get in my way!

In my twenties I was more... hmmm... sedate, jewelry wise (only!)... real gold, refined, signature pieces that I never took off... the older I get the less inclined I am to wear discreet and elegant... I like it loud! My one constant is my wedding ring.

Ah yes - Little Glass Clementine's little sister - she showed me a keyring her sister had made which featured the bleached and gilded jawbone of a fox. Amazing collection and designer - thanks for the shout out too.

I wear all kinds of bling, both the real stuff and costume jewellery. I'm not one for really big statement necklaces, that's just not me, even if I think the one she's wearing here is lovely. My earring wardrobe constists of 90 percent hoops, and a few diamond studs and pearls - all of latter gifts from my family. If I only wear one thing, it'll be earrings. I feel naked without them.

Your images are lovely. So are the girls! :)

Yeea i hardly wear any jewelry either. I need to step it up because it really helps to tie together an outfit. Love that necklace so much!

Gorgeous necklace - well spotted! I'm a bit crap with jewellery. Plain gold band as a ring and little stud ear-rings is pretty much it day in day out. xx

Some women can really pull necklaces off. I wish I was one of them. Somehow I end up looking overdressed and feeling silly.
