Psynopsis Vintage Sheepskin Vest DIY Bumbag and Jacket Next Trousers Collage
I worked really hard on her, but my sister refuses to give up her old aviator jacket. Why?!, I ask, she only wears it to walk the dog. 'But it's warm', she insists - and what can I do? It’s hers. So I had to cut up the old 70s sheepskin coat to make myself a nice warm vest. Baa!

I like the aviator jacket, but (without wanting to be snobby) I rapidly go off any trend you can buy in tescos, so I much prefer your take on the whole sheepskin/ shearling fad. I am absolutely loving the detail on that bumbag as well

I feel the same, Roo Paprika. Really don't want to spend lots of money on one, but I wanted a nice warm wrap.

I really love how the sheepskin looks now, I love chopping the sleeves off everything too! Maybe you could trade your sister another coat for her aviator, or just switch them when she isnt looking ;-)

Gorgeous photos! I love the layout and I love how your face radiates in them. And great jacket also!

Pearl - You too? I tried, honestly, but somehow my jackets didn't have the desired pulling power...

you cut it up yourself? sabine, you're really DIY-forward :)(or am i such a DIY chicken?) it looks like it's always been like that. sooo comfortable!

You know what - the other day I was downtown for an appointment. As I walked along Oslo's main street Karl Johan, I couldn't help notice every other woman was wearing a sheepskin (or faux sheepskin) aviator jacket. Trendy all right, but how incredibly boring!

I think you're much better off, using that sheepskin vest. It looks warm, it's gorgeous - and you're actually the one being fashion forward for picking up the trend but doing it your own way!

Love it!

I have a sheepskin jacket like this from years ago. Maybe I should follow your lead. Except I can't cut straight. Dang!

Craft lady!
I don't think the aviator jacket is a total no though, persistance and alot of whining should do the trick ;)

Well I think you did a great job! I have the same problem with my mum, now I have to wait till she grows out of things before I can get my grubby little hands on them, hehe

I definitely want to read a bit more on that site soon. By the way, pretty good design you have at that site, but what do you think about changing it every few months?

I'm a lover of the old sheepskin more so than this aviator madness. That looks gorgeous on you, so snug and stylish. xxx

I love the jacket! It's very Scandinavian some how. Adorable. Come visit me too soon.

Cheers.

So this is a vest? What a great idea to 'deconstruct' it. I love how this looks in the moment, but not trendy. I fear that most of the aviator jackets you see this season will look really dated a year from now.

That must have taken some guts to cut up shearling! Looks great though - and toasty warm. I already own a sheepskin jacket so feel I shouldn't really buy a new one just because the avaitor is in although I love the look of them. Maybe I should hit the second hand stores and hope I'm lucky to score one as great as this one!

Sandra said...

Oh, I want to cut off sleeves too, now. I forgot how much fun there is to be had with scissors. That was a nice slice of inspiration, thank you girl. :-)
