So Poncho?

Psynopsis 2nd Hand Knit Poncho Topshop Trenchcoat

Psynopsis 2nd Hand Knit Poncho Collage

While I love S's down-to-earth attitude when it comes to fashion and clothes, sometimes she can be a teenie-weenie bit narrow-minded. How else could she comment on my proud new acquisition with: 'Oh dear, I hope you haven’t bought this for me! What is it?' Well, no way am I sharing my new skirt with her!

boots: ash, tights: wolford, sweater: tocca, coat: topshop, belt: 2nd hand, poncho: 2nd hand shop

At first I would have said 'so very 'Charles Anastase'. Remember the collection he had with black tights, black boots and a black coat with a nude chiffon dress underneath? And the dress was just a wee bit longer than the coat . . The first photo really reminds me of that silhouette. But then I scroll down to see it's a wool poncho! How very ingenious!

I love your poncho skirt. I have only ever seen one other person wear one as a skirt before and I think the same now as then. Great idea. I also really like the cable knit. Amazingly my post also features a poncho today. Great minds and all that. Xxxx

You are brilliant! There's a charity shop in town with a heap of deadstock ponchos going for a song at the moment. I'm hoping there's one left for me on Friday as that creation is a masterstroke. xxx

first of all: i love the skirt (since the skirt variant is definitely my favorite although it's also cute as a poncho - but as a skirt... soooo cool!)
secondly: your daughter's reaction really made me laugh out loud! daughters are just like that i guess (i mean, i'm a daughter and i was like that, too ;)

Now that we are on the alteration thing (haha), I have been planning to rework some of the vintage shawls (is that the word?) you know the crocheted ones, big triangles. If you gather them they become instant poncho's, and by your way also skirts. It is about getting the most out of this cold weather.

You know...I'm still in shock that you have a teenager! For some reason, I never realized it while reading your blog! I just thought S was your younger sister until you mentioned it on my post yesterday! I'm such a dork ;o)

SabinePsynopsis said...

Haha, thank you, Maddy. I'm sometimes shocked too, mainly because I look at her and think: Goodness, she's a woman now. The blog is a great way to have my little revenges sometimes (teenagers can be quite tough on their mums). I run into her room and go: 'Ha, look what I wrote today!' She always laughs.
