Tough It Up

Psynopsis Streetstyle London Black Leather Jacket with Studded Heart

I’m really trying to learn the British 'mustn’t grumble' attitude, but when I'm ill my well developed German ability to moan and whinge pushes to the forefront and naaffing, really naaaaaffing is okay in my life. No fun, no games, no taking pictures, going to work is a drag and feeling tired even more so.

But hey-ho, how about a mental toughening-up exercise? Take some black leather, studs, a razor cut, a bit of tightness, some holes… or is it rather a cosy jacket, scented candles and munching chocolate? Tell me, what are your secret pick-me-ups?

Oh dear I hope you feel better soon - my pick me up is crumpets with jam and clotted cream or some sort of pie or crumble with ice cream!

I feel the same way and I don't know why and the only thing that seems to work is getting dress and going out and having fun... Feel better soon and eat more apple tarts lol

Still poorly? You poor thing.
Yes, firm believe in mind over matter - loads of lippy, bright nails and killer heels for me. If I look respectable I feel a little less bad about myself. xxx

Oh I love the hair, I am so tempted to give myself some sort of undercut to 'toughen' up. Marmite is my pick me up, it cures all ills. Or maybe, as a vegetarian, I just need the vitamin B

Heaping on the kohl and peeking out from under a hat! My eyes go black and no amount of concealed will hide it, so it's best to just go with it!
Huge coats are also a must, you can wrap yourself up in them and pretend you're still in bed ;)
Poor Sabine, hope you get better soon

I live for comfort food when I'm feeling really sad. When I'm mad or stressed out though, there is nothing better than a hard run and a hot shower.

I can only think about sleeping it off when I'm sick :) It's like there's super glue on my bed. But a warm thai soup (brought to bed by my darling, of course) and a huge soft pillow will make things easier!
I hope you get well soon ;)
Have a lovely Thursday!

i hope you feel better soon!!!!!

i am not sick (touch wood), but have had such awful headaches lately. work has been a horror scene for me for the last couple of weeks (yes, i am dramatic and having a major pity party for myself - LOL). i do a LOT of screaming, ranting, raving and complaining when i am miserable at work, and that helps. hahahahah! probably not much fun to be around me, but oh well! :)

feel better soon, sabine. my pick-me-up is a cup of tea or good chocolate or a walk in the fresh air.
cool hair pics. i'm a hair person.
hey, i didn't realize germans were prone to whinging. i'll use that as an explanation next time i'm accused of complaining. (i have a lot of german genes, plus my maiden name.) ;)

Hot Toddies (yes, a little cliche), a good book, and sometimes blogging. Also I have tried to dress up to brighten my mood, it really works.

I am looking for a knock-em-dead dress to be instant glam and perk up. Haven't found it yet but I'm looking!

hope you're feeling better soon. seems like this cold or whatever it is has caught almost everyone (incl. me).

but wow - these outfits are really cool. The velvet catsuit (in combination with her hair) is fierce.

Style Odyssey - I don't think it's a genetic trait, more a society where moaning and complaining is considered normal.

Kazuko - it's the travelling... one always picks something up. Get better soon!

Oh I hate doing anything when I am sick, I only like to stay in bed and watch DVDs. But if I have to go to work I just pile on loads of make up and layers, usually with a scarf and hat to hide under!

Sorry to hear that you're still feeling sick :( Usually a day in my pj's (shower optional) with a blanket, tea, bad reality TV usually does the trick for me!

Hoping you feel better in time for the weekend!

When I'm under the weather, I like a hot beverage: chamomile or orange spice tea if I'm feeling responsible; real hot chocolate with a slug of brandy or whiskey if not...plus a cozy mystery novel (esp. the anthropology and art historian mysteries by Aaron Elkins) or a vintage gothic suspense novel (Mary Stewart, Barbara Michaels, Victoria Holt, Anne Maybury).

As for clothing -- I'm just glad if I can get combed and dressed enough to retrieve the mail! Usually it'll be my soft black yoga pants and a black tee, for comfort and a unified look in case I must answer the door.

Hope you're feeling better by now!
