Psynopsis Self-Knitted Gloves
My mum's knitting machine weighed a ton and you had to physically wrestle with it to make it spew out clothes – something only my mum knew how to do. No one else was allowed to use 'the beast' ('It is so very delicate, Sabine!'), which incensed wild dreams of creating missoni-esque patterns on it in me. But I forgot about the machine and moved on to hand-knitting… until I spotted John Rocha’s a/w dresses on Blindcopy. Next thing I remember was having signed up for a machine knitting course at Central St. Martins in January. Believe me, I'm so beyond excited (& do hope they have modern machines for clumsy people).

Such fun photos. I love all the color and those gorgeous gorgeous gloves!!

WHo says winter and fall have to be full of drab colors?

SabinePsynopsis said...

Thank you, Clare. Exactly! & next summer will be super colourful anyway.

The photos remind me of Colors of Benetton kids, in a way that is mature but still really fun and colorful. I really want your gloves....

Hi there-the gloves, scarf and tank top are just superb!! Please let us know how the machine knitting course goes, I'm most intrigued and quite interested myself too! xx

Oh I do love abit of missoni! Not that I could ever afford it:(
well done for signing up for the course. I tell myself I'm going to do these types of things, and mostly don't get round to it.
I remember my friends mum having an archaic knitting machine that seemed to take up the whole of the spare room!

Hurrah for these beautiful pictures! Such gorgeously bright colours, Sabine, just gorgeous. I'm so excited about your course at St Martin's. I've seen knitting machines at car boot sales and they look scarily complicated. xxx

Uahhh, now you're frightening me, Vix.

You look so pretty! I love all the bright colours, you remind me of a pack of crayons (and I don't joke around when it comes to crayons, they are some of my fave things in the world)

You are so beyond clever Sabine!! Your creating talents, the things you make, DIY, adjust, make better.. and they way you frame and compose your photographs...

These images are amazing!!

A machine knitting course... wowza! Looking forward to seeing the creations!

A machine knitting course? I want to hear more! I want to take it! Seriously. But more exciting, your mom had a knitting machine?

I love what you're wearing, it's a virtual riot of colour, love the shots but am especially intrigued by your wall. I'm starting to imagine your house like one of those doll's houses: no outside wall on one side, so you can look in, but each room is a totally different wacky wallpaper colour scheme.

Loved your comment on the hood post btw. It's like it was an invisible post, apart from you and the brilliant Photodiarist. Cheerfulness is a quality I'd love in a husband. In a perfect world.

Wow - these photos are so cool! I especially like the last one.

My mum loves knitting! She's very good at it. Much to her disappointment, her two daughters never shared that interest. But we do enjoy wearing her great work! :)

WOW, these pictures are amazing!!!

I LOVE knits and wish I could wear them more often (I live in the tropics, thus the chance of wearing them are thin, unless the knits are light weight then that's OK :))

Cool photos and some great knitting! I also have a knitting machine that I call The Beast. It's a 1980s one so it's solid, but using it is a work out.
