Olfactory Delights

Psynopsis Diptyque Candle
I love them all year round, but when the days get shorter my addiction to the scented candle can become a bit of a burden on my purse; especially since ALL of them give up halfway, luring me into pyromaniac attempts to keep them burning with an accumulating number of drowning matches.

Over the years I've sniffed my way from Votivo to Miller Harris, but my personal favourite is still Byredo's Cassis (though this only burns two thirds, too), or perhaps Annick Goutal's Ambre F├ętiche? Ah, it’s a terrible addiction, and now that Liberty London has a whole room dedicated to Diptyque candles… You know where to find me.

Do you share the smelly candle addiction with me?

I've never been lucky enough to sniff one of those candles but I'm always in awe of their simple beauty when I see them in magazines. I'm a joss-stick addict, old hippy that I am. xxx

Mmm ... I can smell it from here!
I rarely spend the extra on the more expensive ones myself, but I due to much not so subtle hinting I usually get them as prezzies at Xmas. I'm abit miserly myself, I usually just buy my own in ikea. It's just not the same :(

Holy crap, Sabine, you are a frequent poster. I sometimes want to get back to one of your post with a well thought out comment, but you are on a fast track, haha. And I am in the slow lane, with my posting at the time, the darkness is killing me already (four o clock, pitch dark, wft?!). When it comes to scented candles, I have finally stopped buying them, because it gets to be too much too fast every single time, no matter how pricey the thing. But that just leaves more for you. :-)

Oh, thank you Sandra for noticing. I'm trying to post 4-5 times a week, but have to admit I'm feeling a bit tired today. Maybe that's the reason for a cosy, scenty post.

Oh yes! Except this year I am way into flameless candles. Not nearly as awesome as yours but I have so irrational fears it's ridiculous.

I absolutely do! And I've been working on a candle line at work the past month or so, so I burn candles all day long :)

Hope you're having a fabulous day, sweetie xoxo

I love candles, they don't have to be smelly just there. I have lots on the fireplace which are lit a lot in the winter months. Thank you for your lovely Birthday wishes. Xxxx

not so much, although i know some people who do share the love for candles. i know the power of these candles, especially the part that it's calming (sometimes I buy them too!). i always think people who have this addiction is somewhat unique, very beautiful.

I do! I spend so much money on them and they do not even last for me to argue their worth! Guilty pleasures.

YES YES YES, and I also share the same dilemma with you, I tend to light another candle once the previous one is only 'halfway through' :)), LOVE all of your choices, and these yummy scented candles sure make any room smells so much better :))

I like scented candles, but we can light one in residence so I do miss them a lot! One of my favorite thing are also traditional Moroccan perfume diffuser, I simply love the variety of scents.

oh, i definitely do! it creates such a nice atmosphere and i love when our friends visit and ask what that nice smell is (though i always keep it unobtrusive since there's nothing worse than being overwhelmed by a scent that you don't like.

I do have a slight candle addiction but it's no where near as much as it could be. I think it's because I just dont allow myself time to lust over them :)

Hi-Hi darling Sabine!
I used to spend a lot of $ on candles...not so much anymore(sigh)
Dang the recession!!!

Hope you are as well as can be~
xo as always!

Not so much anymore. I used to be a scented candle lover, but I've gotten more sensitive to fragrances over the years. Anything too strong gives me (and the hubby) some serious headaches!

Oh, I adore candles. We use them as heating to avoid putting on the actual heating! Diptyque are my favourites. x

I love candles too, but have never tried anything as lovely as these. I find it so frustrating that they give up when there;s still so much left. xx

As a matter of fact, yes I do! Almost every time I go grocery shopping, I check the scented candles section, I love the smell and the beautiful touch it gives to the house.
Have a lovely Thursday!

I do splurge on candles. I like to surround myself with beautiful smells year round. I have never smelled Byredo's Cassis. Perhaps I should find a place that sells them around here.
