Take 10 | Hoping for Next Time

Psynopsis Next Lurex Sweater DIY Leather Skirt
I honestly don't know how it happened that we were sent this sweater, because when we communicated with Next they actually came up with some attractive ideas and we all got quite excited about the styling possibilities. But no, they obviously wanted to set us a real challenge…
But don’t despair, the website has more to offer.

And don't miss checking out what Jen, Sarah, Shini, MJ, Sherin, Vicki, Adele, Jazmine and Nic (who is responsible for the wonderful collage above) have done to the jumper!

it was a challenge, indeed! it got me all in a bother when i was deciding what to wear it with. such a shame they had to send this, as next has some wonderful pieces this season!

i have to say, the shape of the jumper really suits your slender figure, though. plus i just adore your wallpaper! xx

Thank you, Jazmine! Living in a fading old house makes for some nice backgrounds. I have to admit the sweater made me slightly grumpy...

I think you're the only woman in the world who could look hot in a Next sweater and goodness me, you look fabulous. Love the cheeky flash of flesh and your incredible legs. xxx

My favorites of this challenge (Park and Cube and the woman featured next to her) really stepped it up. I have only been following you Sabine as you always bring it!

Ediot - It was the lovely Sarah who came up with the idea. It is great fun!

Vix - Merci! I thought it might help to wear very little underneath, but that might have turned out a bit frightening.

Well...hmm... I'm not sure how I feel about this sweater... it's certainly interesting but one thing I do know is that you are totally selling this!! I LOVE how you have styled this Sabine!

You look f*****g amazing!!!! Sorry about the vulgarity. I just love how you look. I love the photos. These are not shades I would wear but the look is so damn sexy! Thanks to you. You certainly rocked this more than the rest.

Oh haha! I love what you have wrote about the jumper! Perfect way of putting it! I love your outfit! I think you really look great and your boots are fabulous! Great photo also!:D

I heard the same sentiment all around. I still think you look fab... but you always do so my opinion isn't always valid.

the idea of take 10 is great indeed! as for the "challenge": if i saw that jumper in store (i actually think i wouldn't even see it) i probably wouldn't consider wearing it. but - no flattery here - i really think you managed to pull it off. with your leather skirt it looks really sexy! (oh, and lucky you - what a beautiful house you must be living in... the wallpaper! childhood dreams incl. james herriot and all his "creatures great and small"...)

I have to admit it's not my favorite item. BUT you make it work, and I have to say I think your look is my favorite of the 10!

Love the way you paired it with leather and showed off the asymmetrical hemline. Wonderful.

Well, I wouldn't normally give the sweater a second look, but you girls (as always) did a fabulous job of styling it just right! Love how youthink outside the box and keep it interesting :)

I can see why this sweater was a challenge but you (and the other girls) have all styled it perfectly - that's why you are the Take 10 girls after all! x

Fashionistable said...

That is indeed a challenging jumper. I would have thought Next would have like to have good PR with this. Your pictures are great. Pity the sweater isn't. Cant imagine them shifting many of these. Xxxx

Haute World said...

I saw this sweater on some of the other sites already and definitely think it's a tough challenge. The color irked me the most, although I do like the asymmetric detail. I think you did a great job with the outfit... the short skirt and cool boots give it an edgier vibe!

How funny, we were just talking about this yesterday! Definitely falls into the 'what were they thinking' category. But - god knows how you managed, Sabine - you not only styled it well but I love the top shot, the composition and yes, that wallpaper. LOVE it!

Your Cinderella Complex post inspired mine today:

Is the sweater really that bad? Was surprised to see it was from Next. I rather like it but you did a stellar job on styling it as did the first three ladies on the mosiac. Wonderful black and white pic.

That is just mean.. having a group of playful girls looking forward to mix it up and be creative, and then send you this (haha). One thing that really frustrates me in winter is the three quarter long sleeved sweaters. But as usual you totally make it work. :-)

I may be the only one who likes it? I actually LOVE it! And you succeeded the challenge so well!!!
