Darkness, candles, cookies… snow! Christmas must be the time for wearing lush royal red; so I was overjoyed when I discovered this dress for £8 in a 2nd hand store. Only at home did I realise that it's too long and too wide for me, and although Harriet has the right height we had to pin it together in the back. (Isn’t that what they do for catalogue photos, too?) - It's still too wide, but after our session she was frozen to the bone and I don't think I could have send her out into the snow again without risking being called Cruella Deville.
dress: austin reed vintage, scarf: topshop, jewellery: model's own, umbrella: lulu guiness (courtesy of maybelline).

oh the pictures are super beautiful! love the one with her wearing the scarf.
and it looks like it doesn't stop snowing in europe :) so beautiful!
WOow and beyond any kind of "Trendy cruelty on freezing cold territory" I must confess that I especially like the way Harriet's bare arms mischievously flirt with the snow Dear !!!

Stunning. The deep red shade against the pure white of the snow is so beautiful. The perfect winter dress! x

Gorgeous photos! I felt cold just looking at these though. Talk about suffering for one's art!!
she looks amazing...perfect for winter in the snow
These photos are incredible I love the red contrasting with the white. Gorgeous!
What gorgeous pictures and she looks stunning .. white and red ... amazing. Love her make up here as well.
There's something undeniably luxurious about red velvet, isn't there? And the snow setting makes it all the more glamorous. I can only imagine how cold the poor girl must have been though ;-)
P.S. Will definitely take you along to the next NK sample sale (or any other if there's a good one) - promise! And it was so lovely to see you again last week :)
oh la la, beautiful red dress is the season must have
Beautiful lady, and a beautiful dress find! I like the highly formal burgundy velvet with the more casual bright bracelets, umbrella, and textured scarf. I also like the dress a tad wide and flowy...it looks rich; makes me think Pre-Raphaelite or medieval maiden.
Who is Harriet? She is amazing and that 2nd photo is bloody brilliant Sabine. Well done Xxxx
Beautiful pictures, Harriet looks gorgeous x

Those are beautiful! She looks positively vampiric (but not in a silly Twilight way)
The dress is so elegant. Some of my favorite posts are when you photograph others, you have a real talent for it Sabine!
That dress is gorgeous! Definitely a great find, and for 8 - you can afford to have it taken in.

love her hair and that amazing umbrella - on first glance I thought it was "summer" then I saw the snow - COLD!! she is a trooper.
Ha, I can just see it, ten years from now and she's in therapy cause her mother made her pose in the snow in a sleeveless dress for her blog.. I wonder if that's considered child abuse?
They're gorgeous shots, tho. I just hope she's okay. xx
@StyleOdyssey & PolkaDot - Beautiful Harriet isn't my daughter, but I might have her mum on my back if she's ill now...
WOW, Sabine - do you realise what has been created here? This could be a mag shoot. Gosh, so striking and beautiful - truly stunning pics. xx
Oh wow! Harriet looks like a fallen angel. It's a wonderful shot with the deep red against the snow, she reminds me of a Narnian anti-heroine...i LOVE it!!
x
