Psynopsis Sabine in Acne Denim Dress Cos T-Shirt

It's a shame about this dress because I hardly wear it ever. It's its straplessness… No micro mini could infuse in me the constant panic of ending up naked like a boob top. (It's earth gravity, you know, things go DOWN.) So I gave it some straps. Sarah thinks it's a shame, but no worries, I made them detachable (using some old denim suspenders from my one pair of Acne jeans). First DIY of the year and feels so much safer!

dress: acne, shirt: cos, bracelet: diy

I love it with straps! And I love the hem of the skirt. Gorgeous photo!

Haha, Sabine, that is a cool photo collage! I believe in more DIY in this year.. it is that or never wear half of my wardrobe again.

i understand that it must feel safer with straps (had the same problem with strapless bras), but - i'm also glad you made them detachable, because the dress is just too gorgeous (without straps) :)

maybe you just have to get used to its straplessness :) wear it more often in the house when nobody can see you for example.

lovely collage btw!

Sandra - 2011 will be THE year of DIY. It's all about wardrobe recycling!

Kazuko - Merci! I don't know... Any strapless top puts me into constant paranoia. I can't get over the feeling that everyone is staring at me because I'm missing some important piece of clothing. (Stupid, I know.)

Aha! I have a similar denim one aka the boob puller. It has a gravitational force all of its own! Great update to this dress

ps. I think you're right, I can see all kinds of craftiness going on in 2011

Ha ha - gravity! I like the triptych! And the dress is cute with or without straps - how clever you made them removable. I think you're right - anything that makes something languishing in your wardrobe more wearable is a good change. I've considered doing that to several things in my wardrobe and never got round to it. Maybe 2011 is the year!

Strapless dresses always make me paranoid, too! Whenever I wear one, I spend the entire day tugging it up as far as possible! I think your dress actually looks better with straps, though. They make it look sort of like a super-pretty pair of overalls!

Damned gravity! It's a fabulous dress made even better with the addition of those genius straps. I think leather ones would look amazing if you fancied a change. xxx

hi lovely. that's a great idea. and i LOVE how it looks. im not that into tube things either.. you have to have a certain body type to be able to pull it off- and i don't- so i try to stay off it.. but i've still been lusting after that acne dress- it's divine. and now with the straps it's just perfect.
hope you're having a good weekend

xx

What a great idea! You should always feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. And if straps helps you feel less "vulnerable" than so be it! I think it looks great! And I love that you have the option to detach them too!

YOu need to wear it more because I absolutely love it and I wish I had one of my own! The skirt is fantastic!@

House in the prairies meets a modern touch. I enjoy the fact that it's denim actually. It sort of reminds me of Valentino's twist on some denim elegant pieces from the last RTW collection, for some reason...

Use Hollywood Fashion Tape to keep strapless and halter dresses in place!

Oh i love it with the suspenders!! It completely changes the look and gives it a much more classy, current vibe. You are so creative, Sabine!

I'm with you all the way on strapless things. I don't have enough up top to keep them up so never risk it! xx

Such a cool way of making this dress more versatile, I've gone off strapless things slightly now so it's a great idea for some of my less-worn items. Love the folds of the dress too.

I love your dress! I think even when you wear a blouse or top under the strapless dress (without the Acne straps) it looks good!
