Psynopsis Armani Sunglasses Edun Leather Jacket
It's the time of the year when the run-of-the-mill fashionista (i.e. me) gets seriously confused because a) we are still stuck in winter, b) our minds turn to spring/summer, whereas c) the collections for next autumn/winter are around the corner.
So with my feet dug strongly into the ground (and arms slung around the tree for extra security… yes, I do blame Chanel's new ads for my new-found love of trees; just lucky there are so many fashionable props where I live…) I solemnly swear will try to wear...
a) high-waisted flares
b) flat shoes (though optically they fill me with fear, the idea of pain-free walking is kind of alluring)
c) colours, colours, colours (as already tried here)
d) any length between midi and maxi (floaty, please, but not palazzo trousers... gotta draw the line somewhere)

What does your – surely less confused – mind come up with?

I'm definitely getting on the 70s/flares/not-quite-midi-not-quite-maxi trends! I'm feeling more natural colours and fabrics, something that swishes when you walk and an altogethr more bohemian vibe (you've met me, you can guess what a challenge this will be for me!!) x

Colours, yes! They really suit you. That tree's very special, too.
I'm liking the sound of high waisted flared jeans but flat shoes? That's scary, that is! xxx

Isn't it, Vix?!

StyleEast - Can NOT wait to see you in a swishy skirt, Jen! (and I hope I've got my camera with me)

So true! This is always the most awkward transition. I want summer. That is all.

I love these photos - you look so stylish, I really love the way you've put everything together.

Totally agree on the heels front too! I love them, but the comfort of flats is irresistible!

I feel the same way. Stuck in that weird transitional phase. What's a girl to do??? Sounds like you have a plan. I better come up with one :) xoxo

Hang on, I"m stuck with the part that FLAT shoes fill you with pain.. for me it's the opposite. I have all these lovely heels that I've saved over the years and can't wear them - are you saying your default is heels? I'm in awe.

You look absolutely gorgeous in these shots. I love the composition of the top one, the wafty scarf and the gnarly branch make such a great shape.

Thanks for your sweet comment, Sabine. i was actually just thinking of you - while swimming - so it might have been just when you wrote that. I've barely used my Canon, I keep having fun taking the Samsung phone to the pool and shooting the same thing as a series in changing light. And yes - it was using the 'antique' (sepia) Samsung app, then chrome i think.

What I think I'll be wearing is different than what I"ll wear when I come back. Right now I'm so in the mood for bright colour because of the Florida light, but when it's cold I kind of sink back into duller colours. I was so stuck in that transitional phase before I left, and now I'm really into floating around in the house here which is so open and light and white, wearing a long wafty pale lemon tropical print dress. Actually, typing this in a black swimsuit, pale pink cardigan and white pj bottoms.

Can't wait to hang out with you @ LFW. Working on a post now. xox

yup, we are at the "in-between season" time of year yet again. it is warm but chilly here. the light is still crisp and cool-ish, but it is warming up.

as always, i can picture many things i want to wear, but i cannot always FIND what i want or AFFORD IT. it is frustrating, but whaddya gonna do? :)

I'm on Sabine's plan! I definitely need more colors in my wardrobe!

hahaha what an awesome post. I feel the same way about the seasons right now. EXACTLY the same way. I love your lists on things to wear. though, what you have on is quite fabulous and doesn't need changing at all!

Too true - it is a funny time. But I like the casual vibe you have going here with the jacket and scarf.

haha - i used to feel exactly like that (very confused) when i lived in germany. i always hated this time of the year: sick of winter, with all the pretty summer clothes already in stores and the pre-fall collections in the magazines. aaah, today i feel lucky that i can simply focus on - summer. :) (but fall winter will come, and i'll be sad that i can't wear/buy all those pretty coats and scarfs (ok, i buy all those pretty scarfs nevertheless and sweat like a pig) :D sabine - i love your jacket and your earrings! have a lovely weekend!

I get even more confused around November/December when pre-fall shows come in.. Because I'm still in fall, and it's about to be christmas, but it's not the clothes I will wear but the ones I might be inspired to wear next year.. Uff.. it's so confusing!!
I promise to try and wear more colour too! :)
