Psynopsis Unfinished Self-Knitted Dress La Redoute T-Shirt
The combination of not being quite clear what I wanted to produce in the first place and lack of technical skills led to this… which is something (you could also call it some kind of thing) and which definitely needs another top half and perhaps some sleeves (and I'm thinking 2 big pockets on the sides). And, guess what - because this can only be the beginning I decided I need a knitting machine.

I am so impressed that you knitted this dress, it's lovely! I love the asymmetric feel to it.

you are quite an accomplished knitter! the knit of your dress is very fine, even delicate.

SabinePsynopsis said...

Hannah - Thank you! It's not finished yet, so some of the asymmetric feel should vanish.

Style Odyssey - Merci! The fine, delicate knitting is down to the machine, sadly not my skills.

That is incredible, Sabine. It looks amazing. If this is your first attempt I can only imagine what wonderful creations are in store.
Your hair is looking gorgeous, really long and shiny. xxx

Cool dress - don't do yourself down that its a machine knit - as with all machines they need an operator who knows what they are doing otherwise rubbish in, rubbish out - it's looking great for a first attempt!

Thank you, Veshoevius! My first words when I took it off the machine were: But it's so boring! which made my teacher laugh out loud. Got to start somewhere...

Okay the fact you even MADE this is incredible! It looks so so so so good too!!! I feel like if I tried to make something it would be a total joke and I would look like crazy homeless woman by the end of it hahaa

That's amazing for a first project! Knitting is hard when you're designing and not just following a pattern. You have to turn a bit of string into a 3D object. So you've achieved a lot here!

congrats, sabine, on your first piece of knit design! i didn't imagine it to be so delicate. that's amazing! and the shape - it's so beautiful. not sure if it really needs a second arm/top half. i like it the way it is, especially with the "wonky stitching" - it gives the dress the perfectly deconstructed touch.

oh, now i wanna do this myself. i'm thinking a flowing rick owens-like cardi or an ann d-like waistcoat...

i know, i know. i'd better shut up since big mouth me hasn't even started one of my 1001 ambitious DIY projects. :(

great job, sabine! you can be proud!

Life is all about trial & error because nothing is permanent here in this world but change. I'll leave this thought to you; if the plan doesnt work, change the plan but never your goal.

I'm rubbish at knitting and have become more interested in taking it up as of late. This dress is impressive .
I actually like the unfinished product. Perhaps its the way the mustard top slightly hangs out the top.

Thank you, Ediot. I'm trying to get an old one for under £100 on ebay. I don't want to feel guilty if I don't use it continuously...

Sabine i see no strange stitching infact i love it more so because it has an earthy feel. Can't wait to see the finished product. I mean it is for me, right? ;)
