Psynopsis Topshop Lurex Sweater Antonio Berardi Skirt Jil Sander Pumps Anya Hindmarch Bag
Having just mud-slided my new shoes might be the reason for looking grumpy, but, hey, anything for a picture… especially when trying to find a visual output for the deep philosophical question if you need some basic hues to play the whole colour-blocking games that is so very much it now. Because, I do think so. And if it's not black, or beige, or camel, what could it be? Right now for me it's brown and green (or rather olive) - and then I'll just pile on the colours from there. (Now don't tell me I'm not wearing anything green – that's why I had to sit in the mud field.)

With all our thoughts these days very much in Japan… If you buy the beautiful book 'The Light of Tokyo' at Assouline 50% of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to support the tsunami relief efforts.

I like how this shot is taken. So artistic. Vogue-ish! I like your hair against the whole color of the outfit :)

I like the idea of purchasing a job and still helping.

Well, you have every reason for looking a bit grumpy when you get mud on those fantastic new shoes. Your hair looks so right and beautiful in the top photograph.
That book looks to be an awesome way of raising funds. xxx

I absolutely adore that photo of you! Definitely one of my favourites. It really feels like it tells a story (which perhaps may be to do with a muddy shoe, but never mind!)

I hope you could get the shoes cleaned up. I would surely risk some mud for such a great shot too.

(Yes I do btw know EXACTLY what you mean, thank you for the late night comment!)

We're so in tune: If I did post today (vs just doing the blogger's vow of silence for Japan) that's what's on my mind, too: colour blocking and the need for neutrals.

Many years ago - and I'll do a post on this as well - I was art director for a complicated book that I came up with a solution of having chapters in colour combinations. I had such fun with the colours and they are the same colours I love today. Hot pink and orange. Olive and hot pink. Turquoise and orange. Lime green and cool 'greek' blue. Camel and hot pink.

I can't bear all primary colours: yellow, red, 'true blue'. And I feel that apart from, say, grey with lime green, grey is a difficult neutral to use with bright colours. I LOVE camel/tan with warm hot colours (like pink) but also I totally agree: olives and khakis are just made for bright colours.

Okay that's my two cents done. Now back to my vigil for Japan. With love, jill

p.s. Haha I"m not done! This vow of blogging silence is so not working - I'm spamming all over your post!

I forgot to say how beautiful these shots are - of you, and also the hedge (it feels so Japanese) and I love what I"m wearing and hope your shoes cleaned up and yes, I'm going to buy the book. What a lovely idea. That's all now. jCx

You wear lurex so well! I'm still torn over whether that would work for my look. Very Isabel Marant, isn't it? Anyway, thanks for braving the mud for this shot. The surrounding reminds me a little of Mulberry's FW11 runway setting.

Wonderful photo! You look amazing! I was walking around in brown, black and olive green too today soaking in the first day of Spring but looking nowhere near as glamorous as this!

This is such a gorgeous shot sabine. You have to know that. The textures, the colours, your hair ...and most of all the look on your face. Why it's the look i've been wearing all week, but somehow on you it looks 'fashion' whereas i just look mardy :/

Ps. Yes, anything for a shot! Muddy new shoes are the ultimate price
