Psynopsis Self-Knitted Blue Scarf Jil Sander T-Shirt Vintage Skirt
Psynopsis Self-Knitted Scarves Collage
IF you were wondering where I'm hiding or what has happened to me… Lot's of work/kitten/tennis season/knitting machine has sprung on me which leaves [BIG SIGH] so little time. But here I am bringing you some sticks like a happy dog in form of new knit pieces. When I bought the 2nd hand machine from one of the Saint Martins professors I really wasn't sure if I would ever find enough time to justify the investment. 'Just do a few scarves and you've already got your money's worth.' Wise man! After fighting it out with the dresses I did turn to scarves… big looped, monochrome, light and dense, many coloured, multi-patterned (punch cards do the trick here. 1001 possibilities… I LOVE them). I still manage to limit the scarf length by habitually jamming the machine – which usually reduces me to tears ('Oh, ALL my work… totally unsaveable!!!') at which point J has to get the screwdriver and take the blasted thing apart (it's a bit like a great-aunt, this machine – old-fashioned, moody and rather delicate), and off I go again…

Big looped, light and monochrome or multi-coloured and multi-patterned… Which one do you like better?

Well worth the money, Sabine! They are stunning (and so are you in all that fabulously vibrant colour). xxx

We are completely on the same wavelength! I do think a scarf adds so much to an outfit. I love patterns and multi colored things, BUT I do think that one solid goes with more and I get my money out of it. I love them both.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend, lovely! xoxo

Wonderful scarf! How funny! As soon as I saw the pic and the fab combination of pink and orange I thought "Jil Sander" and lo and behold I read who the t shirt is by...

i love the blue scarf. i want - i'm totally into electric blue (actually any kind of blue) at the moment. and i like the pattern!

Lovely! I like the stranded colour work. What make of machine is it? I've been looking into getting one, and the only way seems to be secondhand from a uni.

Kazuko - Thank you! 'tis se tennis, I guess. At the end of the summer the right arm tends to be quite a bit bulkier than the left one, which can look slightly unbalanced.

Northwest is Best - I bought a Brother because when I did the course at CSM Brother agreed better with me than Silvereed (which I found a bit flimsy). Since you are dealing with proper old-fashioned, mechanical machines it takes a while to get to know its ticks and problems.

The scarves both look amazing! The machine was defintiely a great investment. I love the one with all the colours! Perfect for this season's colour blocking trend.

I have to say that both are great but my personal favourite is the blue because I find single colours much more versatile. Beautiful first image - great combination of those striking, vibrant shades!

Both are lovely, but I like the first one for sure. Would stare if i saw someone wearing it.

Did you say kitten? You have a kitten?

They are beautiful!! Great job! Glad you've been spending the time doing things you love :) I have also been MIA, but it's mostly because my life is chaos right now with my family over. Looking forward to the peace and quiet.

Ah, such happy, radiant shades of summer colours. And how striking they all look on you against the lime green grass. XXX

I love the work you did with those two scarves! I like them both for different reasons, but right now I'd probably go for the multicolored one. If you added a zig-zag pattern it'd be a dead-ringer for Missoni. And it's color-blocked... how very timely! I don't think I'd have the patience to deal with a moody sewing machine, so kudos to you!
