Psynopsis White Outfit Moschino Cheap & Chic Blazer Vintage Skirt
Psynopsis Moschino Cheap & Chic Blazer Vintage Gold T-Shirt
While brooding over the questions if a) I'm too old to start a knitting empire and b) I've exceeded my expiry date on the internet (the fact that I'm getting slightly bored of seeing my face on the www seems quite a strong indicator, accompanied by J continously whispering into my ear: 'Just close the bloody thing down.' Aye, me thinks he just craves for more attention), I'm filling out a questionnaire asking to describe my personal style - Stuck between the 70s and early 90s, maybe? Because... I'm a minimal girl, yesss! I wear my mum's old white denim skirt and styling to me means putting on a pair of shoes and a jacket (and if I'm feeling extremely experimental a piece of jewellery, but nothing too loud, god-forbid). But this will all change soon because in a few days I'm starting a Styling course at Central St Martins – and if I then still have nothing to say I might really just admit that the 'Best Before' date is over.

Psynopsis Necklaces Anya Hindmarch Bag

After cooing over it in Topshop Sarah ebayed the little camera for me. How could I ever be moody with a daughter like this?!?!

blazer: moschino cheap & chic, top: 2nd hand, belt: 2nd hand, skirt: inherited from mum, bag: anya hindmarch

Aww, THANK YOU. The question is... Do you know how old I am? OLD. But I hear old is the new young. So here we go.

I'm never bored of you, Sabine! That skirt is beautiful (and so is that cute camera). Good luck with the course and no, our age isn't old! xxx

Sabine, don't be Silly!
You have a unique inner style which appeals to me - and I do believe that's got nothing to do with age. It's Style - you are your very own muse. Enjoy the styling course. XXXX

Okay, I'll get going on the knitting empire then...

1. You look fabulous! I adore this minimal look on you. And the lighting is beautiful!
2. You do have an awesome daughter.
3. What?! A styling course? Can I take it with you?

SabinePsynopsis said...

Sure, Tiffany! You'd just need to come to London a month earlier (and we would need to try to get a space for you...) Wouldn't that be fun?!?!

I love seeing your face all over the www, please don't go just yet!

The little camera your daughter bought you is lovely, what a sweet thing to do!

sarah must be an angel! the camera necklace is super cute.

a styling course at Central St Martins - i'm jealous and veeeeery curious!

i think you're never too old to start a knitting empire. depends on how you define "empire"? a small empire - that seems possible. you've already created all the basics like scarfs, that beautiful dress...

bored of your face on the www? your readers clearly aren't! when i started reading blogs yours was one of the very first! and it's still one of the smartest and most inspiring!

SabinePsynopsis said...

Harriet, Kazuko, Sharon - THANK YOU! I've got the feeling this blog needs to/will change a bit... Lets see.

Oh, a styling course! So much fun! I wish I could pull a white outfit off ... I feel too much "on the spot" when I wear white.

Have a fun weekend! ;)

I too have been feeling like this of late but I'm going to New York in October and what better way to document my time there, than on the blog. Same goes for this new course you speak of, would love to see more of your styling work on here, for sure ! You maybe just need a bloggers holiday, take a week off, see how you feel. I love stopping by your page and would really miss you if you buggered off!

you are expressly forbid from closing your blog! i would so miss your sense of humour and beautifully lit pics, not to mention your wardrobe! hang around please :) xx

OMG I am gob smacked, dont go. We love you please stay. We will need to hear how you got on on your styling course. Saying you are too old to start your knitting empire is just a road block you are creating for yourself. It is only too late when you are dead to do things you want to do or achieve. Do you hear me..... :-) Xxxx

Ashley said...

No don't quit! Like most others, I read a lot of blogs, and I like the fact that the blogosphere is so diverse these days. I read blogs by older people (as opposed to old people, you know), blogs by younger people. Blogs by men. Blogs by women. Blogs by transgendered people. Yours is very unique and stands out in a sea of boring blogs. So keep it up!

Like my pep talk? Yeah, me too. I'd like to take a class at St. Martins. Sounds like fun!

Kavery said...

Your daughter is very caring to find the camera for you on eBay. I still find eBay confusing! Don't stop blogging- we are such a diverse bunch here and I hope it stays this way.

How on earth could you be too old to begin a knitting empire, or anything else for that matter - when you're so vibrant and full of ideas and inspirations?? Age is so arbitrary. Perhaps it's very easy for me to say this seeing as I'm still in my teens, but I'm inspired by so many people of all different ages and the only thing that connects them all is their passion for whatever their 'thing' is - be it gardening, philosophy or knitting (or all 3).

you are never too old to start new adventures. You better not leave your blog - its too fun and we all adore you and your awesome pics! last but not least - you have an amazing daughter! (-:

I think you have a great style. Minimal can kick ass so much better on daily basis than the over the top twin style.

I think you have a great sense of personal style. I, on the other hand, have no rhyme or reason to my wardobe - a collection of hand me downs and random sales items. Your minimalistic style rocks and if I had a "style" to aspire to, that would be it :) And for that matter, I hope you don't go anywhere. I mean, I of all people understand if you need a blogging hiatus, but don't leave us for good. The internet would be a bore without you, that's for sure!

Is that camera charm part of the bag? Awesome

I can relate very well to your sentiments actually - I feel like I'm past my expiry date on many many occasions - but if I gave in I'd never do anything! I have toyed many times on doing that styling course and would love to hear your opinion/perspective on it - ESPECIALLY as an older student. xx

vint junky said...

Oh sabine NO NO NO is my answer. You're never too old to start something new, especially when yoiu seem to have a real talent and drive for it, and regards the expiration date on blogging, my faves (which includes you) are mostly not in their teens or twenties. If you stop i may hound you....BUT in saying that i feel precisely the same about it all. I'm sick of looking at my face too ;)
