Psynopsis Julia wearing DIY Skirt
Psynopsis DIY Skirt
Back from my party break… which was so much fun as it happened at my sister's place who's the kind of person to not only throw festivities for 100 people effortlessly, she also (together with her other half) built a magical place from a dilapidated farm – and when she's not raiding skips, landscaping the garden, sewing cushions from vintage fabrics or building greenhouses from slate and drift wood she's not averse to painting her skirt. She's just a pretty cool girl, I think.

Sisters are amazing aren't they! I get such a kick from watching my sister stand on her head after a couple glasses of wine. Your family is very creative and I love that you showed her off to us. Thanks, I am really loving your blog and find it very inspiring.

Thank you, Bella! The headstanding after wine is usually my task in the family :)

i was already sold when i saw the dog. :) but your sister and her skirt are gorgeous, too! oh, and how much do i envy those people, who plan and organise "mass" events (for me, mass starts at 10 people) so effortlessly, differently and with a love for the detail. yup, cool and pretty sister you have, Sabine!

She is a totally cool girl. And yeah, an amazing person too. Love her dog.

Am waiting for a day when I'd be able to paint a simple circle or a square without spilling the paint all over the neighbourhood.

She looks and sounds amazing, rather like you. I can see that beauty and talent run in the family.
That dog's adorable, too! x

Oh Sabine, you're back!! Your sister is so lovely: that top photo is just making me feel warm on this cold grey rainy day. She just looks so sweet and kind and wise.. and then I look down and see that beautiful dog with the ball in his mouth!! It is the best shot, the sunshine pouring through: as if they're both lit from within.

And I love that she painted her skirt.

It sounds like your sister and her husband are living parallel lives with our dear, dear friends, Jim & Maryann - my virtual sister - in Tranquility, NJ. You're making me want to do another post about them, and the home they created, from a dilapidated old giant white wood flour mill, on a waterfall.

Thanks for your generous sweet comments, btw! xoxoxo

Can she teach me all her awesomeness? I love self-sufficient people who aren't afraid to take life in their own hands and make it more beautiful.

Before I clicked on the post I thought "Wow! Sabine is showing some leg!" Then I saw it wasn't you. But it sure looked like it from afar!

Your sister looks and sounds amazing. And that first photo certainly carries that magical feeling through. What a lovely family you have!
I smiled when I noticed your comment on doing handstands. That is my husband's job everywhere - even on frightening precipices! I often think I'll be widowed. (He was a State champion in gymnastics in his youth, until he decided a more intellectual career was in order).
