Psynopsis Model Asian Styling
Somehow everything I had planned for this week fell through (or 'into the water' as they like to say in German, which would be extremely fitting for these times), leaving me with unexpected time at my hands to eat chocolate and bemoan my living look into the 2011 archives - where I found these shots I took during the Saint Martins styling course. I just love the line Sarah creates with her body (that's models for us, they do these things by default); and it also reminded me that I can never ever get enough of kimonos (which I then anagrammed to a title… I really don't know if it's good to have so much time on my own). ♥ ♥ ♥

I have a collection of kimonos. Adore these. I love the flowery details too. Beautifully photographed.

Fantastic shots. I love kimonos so much I recently went on a course to sew my own one. I am very envious of the fabric on this one though, it is stunning

This is reminding me of my kimono hanging in my closet. Needs to come out now. PS... I adore these photos. And her cuff. And her poses.

I would love to have a Kimono, but somehow, the closest I got to having one was when I got a synthetic nightgown shaped like some distant relative of a kimono. I never wore it, detested the color, and well, still don't have a kimono.

Lovely pictures. Did you do a short course or a full time styling course at St Martins?

@Pratishtha - Yeap, it was a 6 weeks short course - I don't think they offer a full time styling course at CSM (yet).

Gorgeous kimonos, model and photographs. They remind me of the period in Europe around the late 1800s - early 1900s, when it was fashionable for (non-Japanese) ladies to sport it at dinner parties.

Kimonos are so special. I would love to have a unique, silk and embroidery one to hang as art some day. - xx

I love the anagram!

I adore Kimono too. The art of the fabrics, the order of the textures, the patterns for each season, the colours and the history.

She looks so stunning! The kimono in the second picture is gorgeous.

there something so decadent and sensual about kimonos even though it's quite ordinary for the actual Japanese. I've yet to find one for myself but am definitely intrigued by them. gorgeous pics from the archives, glad your brought them out to share.
