Well, I tried to have some attractive models showing you the beautiful silk scarf Asta sent me – but no matter with how many Dreamies I bribed them, they totally did not get my idea and just resorted to sulky model attitude and walking straight out of the picture – which I guess is just fair, as in fact I've not been much in sharing mood and have worn my new favourite pretty much non-stop since it arrived. ♥ ♥ ♥

Big Thanks to Sarah for taking this photo of me in our new studio.

While I'd faint for the camel box pleat skirt or some other goodies from Pringle of Scotland at Avenue 32… it's all about putting stuff into the house these days – so I bought a lamp which I thought is 'quirky' and 'nautical', but was immediately baptised 'the torture lamp' by Sarah… On closer view I get what she means – dentist memories might get invoked? ♥ ♥ ♥

As my solution to dealing with leaking roofs, dripping heaters and general house problems consists of plunking a desk in a room, putting up a screen and ignoring it all (if only there weren't the buckets to empty)… I'm all the happier that we have friends who not only went through the process of designing, but also building the most amazing house and who still feel altruistic enough to invite their no-hoper friends to some decent showers, a good night's sleep and the most fabulous dinner view. A few days in interior design heaven even kick-started me into thinking of tearing down some walls and exchanging the camping cooker for a real kitchen… What would life be without our friends, aye? ♥ ♥ ♥

Berlin | Groomed

When my friend Karin recently came back from New York* she told me how incredibly groomed and stylish New Yorkers are. Everyone! she says. Well, I can tell you, the same does not apply to Berlin. Which is partly why I like this city. It's liberating. No pressure. You can wear the same old pair of jeans for weeks… It's fiiine. But sometimes I sit in the tube wondering if maybe, in a few years time I will have stopped wearing make-up for good, and ONLY wear flats (so much more comfortable) and also will have given up on the bra (style naturelle, why not?!)… But only until I end up in places like Villa Harteneck, an interior design nirvana where no lamp goes below a few thousand quid (and probably none of the ladies' faces strolling around either…). The place smells like heaven (aka Diptyque candles) and everything is just biuuutiful. Ah well, never underestimate the power of being put well together... ♥ ♥ ♥

*She went and left before Sandy, and absolutely loved the city. I haven't been in a while, but NY holds a big place in my heart and I so hope New York(ers) can recover from the storm quickly.

Style | Rose

Psynopsis Street Style Berlin Rose in Gingham Dress
Maybe it was the long, waisted gingham dress or the red hair or the 'I'm-not-afraid-to-wear-you' glasses or her poise or the necklace*… but when Rose walked into BaBanbè** I was mega-smitten. Then we chatted a bit and she said she's from the UK. Style Anglaise… thou are unbeaten. ♥ ♥ ♥

* Agreed, it was the combination.

** 'The Banh Mi Deli' offers delicious, if for Berlin sligthly overprized Vietnames sandwiches. If you ever find yourself there (and are not a vegetarian) - the BBQ Pulled Pork is quite divine.

♥ | Stack It

Psynopsis Monica Vinader Siren Stacking Rings
With all the the chaos and excitement of moving I totally forgot to share these beautiful rings Monica Vinader sent to me in summer: 3 Siren Stacking Rings… Amethyst, white topaz and citrine. So pretty and delicate, they belong to these pieces which just make me happy (and even let me forget about ugly hands handicap). ♥ ♥ ♥

Look! Another discovery. Honestly, I was a bit unsure if my Berlin excursions and findings would be interesting to you at all, but then I received an abundance (well, a whole 5) emails and comments saying how much you enjoy them… Which made me so happy. Thank you! So, I'll go on sharing my digs and finds… Like Voo Berlin - a diamond sharp jewel of a shop selling well-known labels like A.P.C. and Acne, but also not so biggies like the Scandinavian brands Minimarket and Wood Wood, plus Japanese incense (phew, expensive!) and wonderful wonderful fragrances… And they have a cute café, too. Why did I ever fear I'd miss Dover Street Market??? ♥ ♥ ♥

Style | The Return of the Knit Sweater

Psynopsis Streetstyle Berlin Striped Knit Sweater

Psynopsis Nationalgallerie Berlin Der geteilte Himmel
It's cold, it's grey… Which is why you can find me huddled up in some art gallery stalking women wearing knit sweaters. 10 years on The Island made me forget how cold Berlin winters can be (and how early they start). Sooo, as winter is coming - are you going to celebrate the grey mouse or be a happily hued bunny*?

*Says the woman who wears nothing but grey - with grey (or on exciting days black, or white)...
