Kate and I, we had this very deep, philosophical discussion about jeans - shape, cut, length, thinness, thickness... Personally I absolutely love the ones she's wearing – they're the perfect degree of comfortable, worn and faded to me; though I fear on my 160-and-a-bit-centimeters they just wouldn't look as good as on her model height… What about you - Do you wear 'le boyfriend'? ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ | Flip-Flop
As Tiffany said… Summer = flip-flops. (And no socks! Really, from April on life should be a socks and tights free zone.) I usually get myself a pair of havaianas at the local supermarket – but this summer I might just go for pretty… ♥ ♥ ♥

Life | Sunny
Yeap, summer does exist in England (even if it's only for a few days) - which reminds me that there are certain things that only go with heat, like…
• making espresso on ice the default drink
• no freezing when turning off the shower (the BEST!)
• adding basil to all foods
• not wanting to eat chocolate all the time (but ice cream instead)
• using suncream as moisturiser (so holiday-ish)...
plus, finding the old raffia bag attractive again.
What are your summer markers? ♥ ♥ ♥

As soon as this bicycle has reacted to the growth hormones I'm feeding it (and, as a side effect, managed to self-inflate its tyres) I'm back to my old ways of auto-propelling myself through the world. I mean, is there anything not good about riding a bike? No production of obnoxious gases (except your own CO2), you can wear high heels without foot pain and give your legs a work-out, while actually getting from A to B. Okay, there's the tight skirt problem… (solution: pretty underwear and more leg workout?). And now I even found a bicycle friendly bag… Look! While you're cruising you can attach it to the carrier (and wear the strap as a belt, if you so feel inclined), and when you're leaving your mule behind you don't automatically look like a courier. Clever, eh?! ♥ ♥ ♥

Style | Pins, Pynt & Paint
Spent the last few days in interior design heaven (muchos Thank Yous for your tips, so much to love!) – also found some good stuff on tumblr…
• DESIGN-RELATED (super eye for the best shapes around the world)
• Pynt (free-flowing dream world associations, drool-drool)
• that is so design (global design chicness).
I've got a hunch that Pinterest will be interior design nirvana (just finally need to get my head around the whole pinning world. I mean, is there anyone not on Pinterest these days??) ♥ ♥ ♥
photo: yeap, the victoria & albert museum has some pretty cool modern zones, too…

♥ | Poolside
The sun's finally come out and my head is turning poolside… raising the old questions: bikini or bathing suit? (I guess both). How many?? (The good thing is, you can get a lot of swimwear in one hand luggage…) Currently holding 4 in my hands. Mmmh. How many 1-pieces, 2-pieces do you take along when you're going sunny places? ♥ ♥ ♥

Style | Pinkish
I guess after the age of 9 one should abstain from 'pink moods' – but then, after 'acertainage' you're free to forget about all these restrictions again (especially since one of my main aims in life has become to be able to one day join the cool ladies of Ari Seth Cohen’s blog)… So pink it is today – maybe also to soften the blow of realisation that without these glasses life has become quite blurry. Maybe if I called them 'accessoire' they'd become more desirable - but then I think I'd rather have some vampirish red contact lenses...
Glasses or contacts – what is it for you (if at all)? ♥ ♥ ♥

Life | The Weird & the Wicked
You might have mysteriously heard me whisper 'this is the year of letting go' becaaauuuse – 'our' house, the house we fell in love with (which is quirky, and full of light, and has a garden and even a little swimming-pool - my voice has gone up an octave by now - and yes, needs A LOT of work - voice has gone back into normal mode) is back on the market and we are back in the game. True, these things take forever and nothing's decided yet, but what the heck, I've started…
a) getting rid of a ton of clothes,
b) packing boxes &
c) dreaming up interiors.
Any recommendations for cool interior design blogs anyone? ♥ ♥ ♥
And wouldn't you wish to live in the British Museum, if just for the columns?

Life | Lets Talk
Big THANKS for your views on the commenting question. Especially Sacramento's thought that a blog without comments 'feels like a magazine' made me wonder: What's a blog? What's a mag? I guess one of the main things that make a blog a blog is the chronology – but it's also its 'democracy', the option to have our say. And yeap, it is hard to keep the conversation going… but it's also what I LOVE about blogs. It's the feedback, the conversation that makes blogs interesting (Took me a while to realise this? Sorry!). So, no being chicken anymore, comments will be enabled now always and forever*.
Aaand what does the picture have to do with all of this? No idea… but I hear we might get some summer after all. Well, I'm so NOT bikini ready. ♥ ♥ ♥
*Until I realise that I always wanted to do a magazine… but then you really have every reason to give up on this erratic soul.

Life | The Clean-Out
What do you do with your old clothes?
I'm not even that big a shopper, but over the years stuff has been accumulating. First they needed an extra trunk, then an additional room… 'Nooo, I cannot give this away – in a few years big, round shoulders will be so in again (and they are), and wide cropped tops… totally (and who would have thought?). But will I ever wear cropped tops again? Or the blazer I loved in the 90s?? And in any case, this year is 'the year of letting go' (more about this soon) which means a) getting rid of a ton of rarely worn items, b) trying not to accumulate more. It's going pretty well – no shopping in 6 months, except this one blazer in the Zara sale (yeap, it's true!). Saw it, grabbed the last one in the row and on my way to the cash excited tourists nearly tackled me to the ground to get their hands on it. 'No-no-no, it's MINE!' (and I thought floral blazers had their moment 2 years ago)… Anyhow - WHAT do you do with your old clothes?? ♥ ♥ ♥
P.S. No, let's not talk about the weather. It's too sad.
blazer: zara, t-shirt and trousers: topshop. Thank you, Sarah, for taking the pictures!

♥ | The Chelsea P.
So here they are… the first pair of pumps I've ever fallen in love with. Cute, aye?
(I did want to model them myself, but being in the grips of an evil, evil cold [curse you, not-even-trying-to-pretend-you-exist summer] I'm not presentable at-all. And when I looked for potential models in the house, all I found was hung-over teenagers – who were even less presentable… So in the end the shoes had to stand for themselves.) ♥ ♥ ♥

Beautiful Theresa Ebagua – with whom I had tea yesterday (at the Claridge's Hotel… ah-ya, I do love my 'job'). Now, can you guess her profession? Oui-oui, it's got to do with shoes... Theresa is the creative director of Chelsea Paris - and when I said my good-byes she was so kind to give me a pair of pumps, which I love – something I did not expect to say about pumps, ever. ♥ ♥ ♥

♥ | Winter-Morgaine
Lovely Morgaine as photographed last winter in the woods.
...and now, lets talk about something completely different - It's true, and some of you asked about this – I've been a bit schizo about the comment function lately… on, off, on, off… but there's reason behind the madness, actually several ones:
1) When someone leaves a comment I do like to reciproce* the visit, and because of some life changes I currently don't find much time to do this.
2) This sounds bad, but it's the sad truth – the longer I blog the more I just want to do my thing – which could be an abstract photo one day, talking about a fashion show or some inspiration the next, and to have the confidence to do 'my thing' (whatever that is) I sometimes feel it's better not to care what others think about it – yeap, it's the virtual head in the sand and I bang the one against the wall in shame about it…
3) Some of my favourite blogs (e.g. turned out, hedi slimane’s diary, jak & jil) work wonderfully without comments. Personally, I really don't care if a blog offers comments or not – if I find the content exciting I go and visit. And there's always email and twitter…
So, what do you think? How do you do it? Comment function – yay or nay? ♥ ♥ ♥
